Stampin’ Up! Thailand Incentive Trip Achievers’ Blog Hop – Inspired by Nature

Welcome to the Thailand Incentive Trip Achievers Blog Hop for October.

This is our first blog hop with those that have earned the amazing trip with Stampin’ Up!® to Thailand next July. I am so honoured and excited to have earned my second Incentive Trip – Thanks to all who helped along the journey! Those hopping today are all Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who have met the requirements, and earned the amazing Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip – while everyone can try, only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year.

This month our theme is “Inspired by Nature” as many of us live in different areas around the world and have amazing – but very different – seasons that we are enjoying. Plus the nature in Thailand is just incredible so we are inspired by our trip too.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Jackie Noble | creativeJax –  or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Jackie Noble | creativeJax.

I consider myself exceptionally lucky to have been born in New Zealand – or Aotearoa – “the land of the long white cloud”. I may be biased, but it truly is an amazing country and one of the things that make it such a great place to live is the abundance and variety of “nature”. For such a small country (268,680 sq km – similar in size to the state of Colorado or to the UK) we have a huge variety of nature in its many forms. Inspiration is all around – from the grand and wondrous to our own backyards. For today’s project and hop I’ve taken inspiration from our garden at home.

It’s Spring in New Zealand. For the last month, I’ve been enjoying my walk to the mailbox – the sight & smell as I walk past the jasmine hedge is amazing! And in the last week our two cherry blossom trees have come into flower – where there were bare trees just a few days ago – we now have an abundance of bunches of white and pink blossoms.

I’ve snapped a few pictures of these stunning plants and rather than leave them on my phone – or somewhere in the sea of social media – I’ve been inspired to create a pocket page celebrating this stunning time.

What better paper to be the backdrop for my jasmine and cherry blossoms than “Blooms and Bliss” Designer Series Paper (DSP). In fact when I first saw this particular pattern way back in the depths of winter when the catalogue was launched – I immediately thought of our blossom trees. Those that know me, know I’m not really a pink sort of a girl, but I love this paper!

The layout is deliberately “busy” – these trees and the jasmine hedge are simply loaded with flowers and I wanted to convey that in the layout.

Who knew there were so many shades of pink in just a couple of plants! I’ve used 5 different ribbons that coordinate with the colours in the DSP and in the flowers – Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugar Plum and Rich Razzleberry. The different textures reminded me of the variety of textures in the plants themselves.

I added more texture by running the Rich Razzleberry cardstock through the Big Shot with the Petal Burst Embossing Folder, and by adding a few loose sequins from the Bushing Bride Sequin Trim. The 2015-2017 In Color doilies are white on the back so are really versatile – can you find a couple of them in among the blooms?!
