Welcome to this month’s Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop.
Our Design Team is made up of 11 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in. We have come together to share projects focusing on the beautiful Designer Series Paper in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogue.
Each month we will be featuring a different paper and our Designer Series Paper (DSP) for October is All is Bright.
The paper’s colours are Call Me Clover, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, gold, Real Red, Shaded Spruce and Whisper White and the artwork is a mixture of photo type images, graphics and backgrounds. There are lots of coordinating products as the paper is part of the All is Bright Suite which you can view HERE.
Here’s my All is Bright card.
While part os a great suite of products, today I’ve paired one of the botanical patterns with products from the Snowflake Showcase – a limited time promotion called “Catch a Snowflake” that is running in November. These are three products from the promotion that I’ve used in my card.
I’ll include all the details of the promotion towards the end of my post, but you can contact me to pre-order these now – ready for their release on 1st November.
While you may not know it from the photo above, my project is a Fancy Fold card made using the All is Bright DSP. The card is like a little book – there is a page to turn in the middle! The advantage of this fold is that you get to see both sides of the DSP!
I’ve taken a 12″x6″ piece of DSP and with the inside of the card facing up, I’ve scored it at 2″, 5″, and 8″ on the Simply Scored Tool. I then folded the paper so I could glue the two parts that are 3″ wide together to form the middle “page” of the card.
Here is the first view after opening the front of the card.
I’ve decorated the with two snowflakes cut with the Snowfall Thinlits. There are 20 dies in this set – including 15 snowflakes! The large snowflake is cut from the Gold Glimmer Paper, the smaller snowflake from the Gold Foil Sheet and there is a piece of Gold 3/8″ Metallic-Edge Ribbon between the snowflakes.
Next up, the layout after I turn the middle “page” of my card.
The Very Vanilla card liner is matted onto Gold Foil Sheet and the Sentiment is stamp in Shaded Spruce. Some more glimmery snowflakes decorate the inside pages.
The front of the card also has Very Vanilla Cardstock matted onto Gold Foil Sheet.
The Tree is stamped in Shaded Spruce while “Joy” has been heat embossed in Gold. I love the way the gold snowflakes on the inside pages peek out and can be seen when the card is closed.
Did you notice the gold embellishment in the top left hand corner of my card? Here’s a closer view.
The snowflake Trinkets are silver but I’ve painted this one with Vegas Gold Shimmer Paint! Now it’s a perfect match with all the other Gold Elements.
And if you’re wondering, this is the back of my card – which is the back of the DSP seen in the inside of the card.
This shows on the front of the card too and here is the whole card front again so you can see that.
