Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop
Whether you’re joining the Hop here at
CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped on over from the talented
Kathryn Mangelsdorf – a BIG hello!
Well it is finally here – the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue! It seems such a long time ago that I received a copy at On Stage in April! That’s one of the big perks of being a demonstrator – early access to the catalogue & being able to order some of the goodies before they are available to the public. But it has been a long time to keep it under wraps and I’m super excited that everyone can now see the catalogue – and get their hands on the fabulous new products. If you don’t have your copy yet, live in New Zealand and would like to receive your own copy in the mail – please email me (
jackie@creativejax.co.nz). You can also view and order online – click HERE
This week at CASE-ing the Catty we are CASE-ing a project from the Everday Occaions Section of the catalogue (pages 18 to 67). A lot of pages and a LOT of inspiration there!
I have been itching to use the new Memory Keeping Product Suite – the Memories and More range and when I saw the image of the dog below on page 45 I knew I’d found my project to CASE! For me it was going to be some memories of “Cats in Hats”!
What fun – well for us humans that is! Maybe a little less so for our furry friends!
I’ve used a few new products from the “Color Theory Memories and More Card Collection” and the co-ordinating “
Color Theory Product Suite“.
Color Theory Memories and More Card COllection
There are four card collections in the Memories and More range –
Color Theory,
Petal Garden,
Bundle of Love and
Perfect Days. If you click on any of these links they will take you to the Online shop where you can see images of all the cards in each collection – a great way of seeing these collections in more detail than you will find in the catalogue.
The first three card collections are designed to co-ordinate with a matching product suite – what a great way to extend the use of the cards – hence the name – Memories and More! (You can check out the other co-ordinating product suites here
Bundle of Love and
Petal Garden )
I decided to use only the Dapper Denim coloured cards, DSP and dots as a contrast to the colours in my photos.
But if you look at the cards – the Dapper Denim ones relate to winter – not quite what I was after. But the great thing about the Memories and More cards are that you can cut them, and adapt them to the layout you are doing. Here’s some images that show the cards I started with and what I ended up doing with them.
There are two of each cards in each card collection pack which is great when you want to make matching cards and embellishments. I cut the centre out of one of the centres of the “Let’s Stay In” card, layered up with matching DSP, another card and copper Trim to create a title card that worked with my layout. Fussy cutting the “Let’s” was a bit fiddly!
From the second Let’s Stay in card I cut off the dotty edges to use on other cards & also behind some of the words.
The title was stamped with the Labeler Alphabet and the Brushwork Alphabet stamp sets.
Below you can see the components I used to create one of the cards.
Cutting one of the 3X4″ diagonally and putting some DSP behind tied in the gradient of colour.
I’ve carried that diagonal cut through to the the words I put on each of the cat pictures.
The journalling card was adapted by covering the “winter FUN” sentiment with part of a 3×4″ card.
I’ve also popped a few Glitter dots onto some of the cards – who doesn’t like a bit of glitter!
I have so loved using this Color Theory Memories and More card collection and am looking forward when the courier arrives this week with the other collections which I have ordered!
Stampin’ Up! is running a fabulous Hostess promotion for the month of June – extra Stampin’ Rewards for qualifying parties! If you’d like to hold a Stampin’ Up! Party aka workshop with me I have some spaces available for June.

What a great layout, Jackie! Great inspiration for breaking open my Memories and More card packs. Love your kitty photos, too. Mine love playing in the Christmas paper (which we still have in a box in our lounge, lol).
I love how you have stepped up the cards, really inspirational. In one of the pictures your cat looks about as impressed as my daughter’s when she dresses him up lol.
Love your page! Your kitties don’t look too impressed about the hats!!
Such a fun project Jackie! Great work with coordinating all those sweet little embellishments and the creative sentiments on each kitty.
So cool Jackie! Love the Cats in Hats!!!!
Great layout Jackie! I love seeing the Memories and More cards in action! It looks like you had more fun than your cat! Kelly x
Thank you for the awesome Memories and More inspiration – now I’m keen to do some too!! I love the way you’ve adapted the cards – so clever.
