So – a quick reminder as to how Colour INKspiration works – Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 9pm New Zealand Daylight Savings Time (7 pm AEDT), a new Pinterest Inspired colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group, and the Colour INKspiration Design Team will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.
Our Pinterest Inspired Colour Swatch for today’s Blog Hop and for Facebook Colour INKspiration Challenge number 2 (CI02) is:
Those tiny words say Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, Whisper White and Garden Green.
A great swatch to work with.
I needed some welcome cards last week as I have had 2 wonderful new members join my Stampin’ Up! Team (thiINK Creative). Welcome Melanie & Michelle!
I decided to ink up Avant Garden – one of the Sale-A-Bration sets you can choose for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration. I thought the challenge colours would work beautifully with this set. I think I was right – do you?
The Welcome sentiment – from the Vertical Garden Set – is stamped in Garden Green.
I also wanted some birthday cards, so I used the same components as on my Welcome card – but re-arranged them a little for a Birthday card.
The card bases (half A4) are Wisteria Wonder with some speckled stamping along the edges – this was done in Versamark for a subtle look.
I’ve stamped the flower onto Watercolor Paper with Versamark – after running the Embossing Buddy over the paper of course! – then heat embossed it with Whisper White Embossing powder.
The Soft Sky watercoloured background was achieved using an Aqua Painter. I also used the Aqua Painter to colour the flowers in Wisteria Wonder and the foliage in Mint Macaron. I deliberately went outside-the-lines as I wanted a hint of colour as a highlight. You can see that more clearly in the closeup below.
See those little droplets – don’t they look just like water droplets? Nope – they’re not! In fact they are small droplets of glue – Fine Tip Glue to be exact! So not only is the Fine Tip Glue a remarkably strong adhesive – it can also be used to obtain a glossy finish – just like we used to do with Crystal Effects! You can spread it out over a surface to make it shiny – or leave it as a drop and once it is dry, the glue become like a clear accent.
I matted the Watercolor Paper onto Soft Sky card stock, attached the Mint Macaron Ribbon and stuck it to the card front with dimensionals.
Here are both cards together.
Love how the same components can look so different simply by rearranging them!

Gorgeous! I think I have “bow envy” they are so perfect!
Totally love what you have done with these colours. The watercolour wash background is perfect to highlight the detail in the stem of flowers. Gorgeous set.
I love the resist emboss technique! These colours and design work so very well together, the ribbon on both designs gives that extra element and even more texture to what looks like a very tactile card. I l adore a tactile card 😀
So pretty Jackie! Love how you’ve used the colours! Kelly x
Such lovely elegant cards Jackie. Your soft water colouring is so pretty!
Your soft colouring is so beautiful. And so are the clear glue drops. What a gorgeous pair of cards.
I love both of your beautifully layered cards, Jackie. The white embossing is so striking. x
