Welcome to the eleventh Colour INKspiration Challenge.
The crew is kicking off with a Blog Hop this evening and it is great to have Juan Ambida join us as a guest designer.
If you’ve been hoppin along – you will have come from the awesome Kelly Kent of My Crafting Journey. What a fab card!
A reminder that if you are not part of the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group please do join the group. It’s a place where crafters from throughout the world can share their creativity all inspired by a Pinterest Inspired Colour Swatch.
And here’s this week’s colour swatch!
I just love the content of the photo – as well as this colour swatch! I mean – mmmm – coffee and macarons – what a great combo and I think Eary Espresso, Marina Mist and Soft Suede are a fab combo too!
This was one of the cards I taught at my Eastern Palace Card Class over the weekend, and was inspired by a home deco item I’d seen by Kirstin Kreis.
The card base is half a piece of Marina Mist A4 folded and I’ve matted the Very Vanilla onto Early Espresso with just a narrow mat showing.
There’s some “random” stamping in all three colours to form a background and some 3D embellishments.
These flower-like embellishments are made from two layers. The bottom layer is Soft Suede cut using one of the thinlits from the Eastern Medallions set which has been adhered to the card front. The top layer of Very Vanilla, was stamped in Marina Mist using one of the stamps from the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set and then cut with another thinlit.
The diecut from this second thinlit often has the inside ‘petals’ forward and the skinny outside part lower. I’ve done them the opposite way with the ‘petal’ part down and stuck to the Soft Suede underneath, and the skinnier part is raised up a little. You can see what I mean in the close-up below.
And those cute wee centres are cut from one of the Eastern Palace Designer Series Paper. I just added some Marina Mist colour with a sponge dauber.
Adhering something so small used to mean I would be chopping up dimensionals – quite fiddly! Well, no more of that – the oh so fabulous Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals are perfect for this task!
How cute are they! And of course so useful too!!!
As usual, I’ve carried the outside imagery through to the inside of my card.
The Eastern Palace Suite is a stunner – but I really enjoyed working in a different colour palette. I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the suite in a different context. The Eastern Beauty Bundle is a great way to get the stamps and thinlits – who doesn’t like getting a 10% discount
Now hop on over the talented Rachael Palmieri of Stampin’ Pals to see what she has created with these colours.
But don’t forget – anyone can participate in the Colour INKspiration ‘Challenge’ by uploading photos of their projects and you can link back to your personal blog if you’d like to.
Make sure you click – Colour INKspiration – and ask to join. Then add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in with the challenges too. Hope to see you there!
