While on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to the Greek Isles with other Achieving Demonstrators from throughout the world there was a voluntary card swap and 3D swap organised by Stampin’ Up! – I participated in both. My 3D swap featured in the All Stars Tutorial Blog Hop earlier this month – if you missed it you can see it HERE.
After handing in my swaps early in the week, I received 25 fabulous swaps back later in the week, and I am CASEing one of those for today’s project.
The lovely Lisa Brown, who lives in Ohio in the US, made a cute mini album and here is my take on it that features the Come Sail Away DSP and the coordinating Come Sail Away Memories & More Card Pack.
Come Sail Away August Project
It may be a bit hard to see the DSP in this view, as I have layered a Memories & More card on top of it.
But you can see it more clearly on the back of the mini-album.
Many of the papers in the Come Sail Away DSP pack have shades of Night of Navy and Balmy Blue. But I wanted to go with the other colours in the suite – so have used Mossy Meadow and Basic Black as my base colours. While Soft Suede also features on the cards I have used, I’ve gone for the coordinating, paler colour of Crumb Cake for my Belly Band and as mats in the album.
Below you can see (top to bottom):
- The front of the album with the belly band removed
- The album opened without being extended
- The opened album with the sides extended (even though they look different in the photo – both of the middle mats are Crumb Cake!)
To give you an idea of how the album folds here are a few photos from different angles.
You can see some more of the Come Sail Away DSP has been used on the extending parts of the album.
Below is the fully extended album from both sides.
As I mentioned, in addition to the DSP, I also used several 3″ x 4″ cards from the Memories & More Card Pack. I love the variety in both the DSP and the Memories & More cards – you can achieve very different looks depending which ones you use!
This project would make a fabulous masculine gift – handy with Father’s Day gift only a couple of weeks away here in New Zealand.
Now hop of through and see what projects the other talented members of the Pretty Cards & Papers Design Crew have created with this versatile DSP.
