Hello Again
One of the things I have been disappointed in over the last couple of weeks is that I haven’t been posting on my page – and another is not getting something made and posted for the CASE-ing the Catty Challenges. I think this Challenge site is great and try to get something made for each challenge.
In fact I had got things made – but simply didn’t get them posted so I missed the last couple of CTC challenges from the Annual Catalogue – so sad 🙁
But now that the Challenge has moved onto the Holiday Catalogue I just had to get back online and share what I created for the challenge. As often happens – once I started creating, these creations gave me more ideas.
So CTC 11 is a Tag Challenge and I took my initial inspiration from the tags on page 6 and also a little from page 4 too.
I created two tags using Under the Tree Specialty DSP – one with the Scalloped Tag Topper punch and the other the Angled Tag Topper punch. These are just so great for quickly and efficiently creating Tags. I loved the use of the glimmer sheets in the tags on page 6 so made sure I included some in my tags. The sentiments were both from the Merry Everything Stamp set and punched with the coordinating Note Tag Punch.
As I was putting the gold ribbon in one of the tags I thought I should make a tag that focused on gold – so out came the gold brushed cardstock as a base, the gorgeous gold satin ribbon and gold bakers twine as the tie, the gold taffeta and the gold sequins trim and gold metallic button as embellishments and some gold embossing powder for the sentiment. There is a hint of garden green used in the sentiment stamp and to mat the punched very vanilla. I love how this turned out.
I’d also been doing some colouring with the Stampin’ Blendabilities and found this cute bird in the For the Birds Stamp set. It was just singing out to be made into a tag! After colouring him in with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities, I trimmed down the width of the Whisper White cardstock so that when it was punched with the Scalloped Tag Topper it was narrower than the piece of Old Olive that I mounted it onto. And don’t you love that you can colour rhinestones (among other things) with the Blendabilites and get coordinating embellishments – yay!
So thanks CTC for providing the inspiration and motivation for me to get my creations done and for getting me back online.
Don’t forget to check out the CASE-ing the Catty webpage and see the Design Team’s creations.
Until next time
Jackie
