Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop!
Whether you’re joining the Hop here at
CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped across the ditch from the lovely
Judy May – a big WELCOME!
This week the CTC Crew is CASE-ing pages 127 to 141 of the Annual Catalogue – the first part of the Artistic Expression Section in the catalogue.
The number and range of creative ideas contained in these pages is incredible. It was hard to choose a project to CASE!
I decided to try one of the colouring technique on pages 127 and 136 – the one surrounding the bride image.
Then I’ve taken the colours and layout from the card on the top left-hand side of page 135 as the starting point for my card and mixed it with the stamps and framelits from the limited-time release Colour Your Seasons Bundle. There is more information about this gorgeous bundle below.
The Card Base is Balmy Blue, the diecut panel is Shimmery White, and the sentiment is stamped on Crumb Cake.
The bell image from the Blended Seasons Stamp set is perfect for the watercolour technique. I’ve stamped the bells in Black Stazon – always the best option when watercolouring. Here’s the card on its own.
Rather than using a rectangle though, I’ve used the mid-sized decorative panel die from the Stitched Seasons Framelits and rather than a banner behind this panel, I’ve opted for some Blueberry Bushel Ribbon as the contrast. Both the watercolouring and the sentiment are in Blueberry Bushel.
Here’s a closer view of the watercolouring. The ribbon is coloured in Crushed Curry.
Like the original – there is some Burlap Ribbon behind the sentiment which adds an interesting texture.
More texture has been added by embossing the front of the card with the Subtles Texture Embossing folder.
Don’t forget to check out the home of CASEing the Catty on Facebook. If you’re not a member of the group – just ask to join and we will see you there! And if you wish to – you can join in the fun too!
You have almost a week to create and join in. Just add your photo to the Facebook group before 7pm next Sunday to be included in the challenge.
Now, hop on over to the next blog with the fabulous
Sandra Collett and check out her gorgeous card – it features one of my all-time favourite stamps!.
The bundle I’ve used in my project is from the Colour Your Season Suite which is only available during August – while supplies last.
The Colour Your Season suite is a set of all-new, limited-time products that are only available in August and only while supplies last.
This gorgeous suite includes 3 items
- the Blended Seasons Stamp Set (images for every season),
- the coordinating Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies (Squeal – they have stitching on both the positive and negative images)
Stitched Seasons Framelits Dies – $69.00
- Watercolor Pencils (ten new colours).
Watercolor Pencils (Assortment 2) – $26.25
the stamps and framelits are also available to purchase as a bundle – in wood or clear block mount.
WaterColour Pencils
Now in even more colours – 10 in fact – these high-quality, smooth colour pencils are perfect for creating watercolour stamped images. Use with Aqua Painters, Blender Pens, or alone. They work beautifully with the Blended Season stamp set. They are also Acid and Lignin Free
The colours in this assortment complement the colours already available in the Annual catalogue. The colours are: Balmy Blue, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Flirty Flamingo, Garden Green, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Night of Navy.
Blended Season Stamp Set
As the name suggests – there’s a stamp for any season in this set! But not only do the images work for different seasons – they also cover a huge range of card giving reasons – from Christmas to wedding to Get Well to Thanks and most things in between!
The different images and sentiments fit so well onto the different sized dies in the Stitched Seasons Framelits.
And of course, those images are perfect for colouring. It could be with the Watercolour Pencils or Stampin’ Blends or Aqua Painters. So much choice!
Stitched Season Framelits
I’m in love with these framelits!
Only one of the dies – the Bell shape – actually cuts out a stamped image from the Blended Seasons Stamp Set. The others are stand-alone dies – though of course, they coordinate beautifully with the other stamped images and sentiments.
I’m particularly fond of the decorative shaped panels. Three sizes equal lots of versatility – and they that mat so well together. Look closely at the shaped panels – the cutting and stitching configuration means when the panel is cut you get stitching around the panel itself – AND stitching around the outside of the “negative” space left behind!!! You can see that in the images below.
I’ll be featuring more projects using this fabulous suite over the next week.
And remember – any purchase of $NZ50 or more this month qualifies you to receive the amazing International Tutorial Bundle for FREE!! This month five (5) or the 12 projects feature the Colour Your Seasons Suite!
Here’s a sneak peek of the projects in the August Tutorial Bundle.
