Scrapbooking Global June Blog Hop – Birthdays & Parties

Welcome!!!

It’s fun to be hopping with the Scrapbooking Global – Stampin’ Up! Group today. So pleased you are hopping by!

If you’re not familiar with the group – this is a closed Facebook Group that “…  is for Scrapbookers who use Stampin’ Up!. This group is open to anyone…Demonstrator or not.”  The group shares projects feature mostly Stampin’ Up! products – used in any Scrapbooking/Memories and More/Project Life/Mini Albums and Samplers/Canvases.

Marga Bultena is Guest Designer for June, and her Theme is Birthdays and Parties. So I’m imagining you will see lots of happy fun layouts today.

I’m sharing a layout of photos taken at my Dad’s 80th Birthday Party. Of course, we try and get a great family picture when we are together. I don’t know what taking family pictures is like for you – but getting the five of us siblings together, in the same photo and all looking half decent in just one photo has always been tricky!

Capture the Good

Then add in now adult offspring and partners – on both sides of the lens – and it doesn’t get any easier!

Capture the Good

But the hijinks and laughter behind the photos are all part of the party and that’s what I wanted to convey in this layout!

Not sure if you can see in the photos above, but the hearts in centres of the camera apertures are shiny. I added some Fine Tip Glue onto the image to get that look.

I really wanted the photos and the camera images to be the feature so haven’t added lots of texture or other embellishments – though I did add a little texture to the Smile sentiment.

Capture the Good

Most of the images and sentiments come from the gorgeous “Capture the Good” Stamp Set.

Capture the Good

I know this set is going to see a lot of ink.

Capture the Good

But I also used the “family” definition from Praiseworthy Prose and the numbers from “Family Party” – how perfect for this layout and hop!

Hope you get a smile from my wonderful family – I love them all dearly!

I’m glad I can capture and record these good times. If you’re in New Zealand and looking for a creative coach – there’s lots of info about how I can help further down.

Next in our Blog Hop today is Diana

No Flower Magnolia Lane – Hopping with the Greek Isles Incentive Trip Earners

Greek Isles Incentive Trip Achievers Blog HopThose hopping today are all Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who have met the requirements, and earned the amazing 2019  Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip – while all demonstrators can potentially earn the trip, only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year. Of the about 50,000 demonstrators from throughout the world 445 earned this particular trip.

And it is getting very close! The Greek Isles Cruise departs from Rome on 7th July, but Roy and I leave New Zealand earlier as we are holidaying in Italy before the trip! In fact – this time next week we will have done the first of three flights to get to Europe – our 1-hour domestic flight to Auckland. That’s the easy one!

As Achieving Demonstrators, we hop together once a month to show you ideas and designs using “current” Stampin’ Up!® products. Our June Hop features product from the new 2019/2020 catalogue which went live two weeks ago on 4th June.

My Blog Hop Project is a swap I have done for a group of demos from the South Pacific. I love swapping – it’s so exciting to see what projects arrive back in the mail from the other participants!

Project – No Flower Magnolia Lane Card:

No Flower Magnolia

The card base is Thick Very Vanilla – I find this Thick cardstock much more suitable as a card base that the standard Very Vanilla.

There’s a layer of Crumb Cake that covers the entire front of the card. This layer is embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

The top layer is again Thick Very Vanilla and I have stamped one image repeatedly in Early Espresso using the Stamparatus to get an even ombre effect.

My blog title included the words “No Flower Magnolia Lane”. The Magnolia Suite of Products is mostly recognisable by the gorgeous images of Magnolias – on the Designer Series Paper as well as in the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set as you can see below.

Good Morning Magnolia

I wanted to feature the border stamp you see at the bottom of the second stamp set case. I’ve used the coordinating border die from the Magnolia Memory Dies. This die cuts and embosses which you can see in the close-up. Of course, these two items are available as a bundle – the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle

No Flower Magnolia

You can see how the border die is shaped to match the stamp and there is an embossed detail inside the cut line. I love how Stampin’ Up! Designers spend time on all the details of products, and how they work together! The close-up also shows the texture of the embossed Crumb Cake. Note I did the stamping before I embossed! The sentiment is part of a larger sentiment in the set. I’ve cut this stamp in half as I know I’m going to be using these two lines in many projects!

The picture below shows not only the front of the card but a sneak inside where you can see I’ve repeated the border detail. This time by adding a piece of die cut Crumb Cake onto the Very Vanilla – rather than cutting the Very Vanilla card base.

No Flower Magnolia

The ribbon tied around the top of the card is the White Linen Ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo Pack and also some Linen Thread.

Attached is one of the Bird Ballard Trinkets.

June All Stars Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop – Free as A Bird

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Here’s a look at the current All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team. I’m humbled to be part of such an incredible group of amazing women and have them as Part of My Story!.
2019 All Star Design Team

The team is ready to help you create beautiful handmade projects featuring Stampin’ Up! products. We have a May Tutorial Bundle and a Blog Hop for you.

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a bundle of 12 tutorials using Stampin’ Up! products.
This month the bundle contains tutorials for traditional style cards, 3D packaging, fancy fold cards, and paper crafting techniques! It’s full of fabulous projects you don’t want to miss out on. It’s jam packed with inspiration with products from the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue! Here’s a Sneak Peak of what you will receive in the bundle.

June Bundle Sneak Peek

The Tutorial Bundles are based on currently available supplies from Stampin’ Up! and will have both metric and imperial (inches) measurements. So no matter where you live in the world, you can purchase these tutorials and use them to create great projects!

The Tutorial Bundle is $NZ21 – or place an order over $NZ50 this month with me to receive this month’s tutorial for free. See the details at the end of the post to find out how you can get this exclusive bundle of tutorials.

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team Blog Hop

Remember, the projects in the Blog Hop are not the same projects as in our tutorial – the projects in the Tutorial Bundle are exclusive and not shown anywhere else.
My project is a card featuring products from the Bird Ballard Product Suite  including coordinating stamps, Designer Series Paper, Dies and Trinkets! Other coordinating thread shows how so many of the different suites actually work wonderfully together

Free As A Bird

The leaves are from the Free As A Bird stamp set and stamped in Old Olive.

As well as being providing a subtle background, the Bird is also fussy cut from the gorgeous Bird Ballard Designer Series Paper.

Free As A Bird

The bird is mounted onto one of my favourite products from the new catalogue – the Stitched Nested Label Dies – they are already getting a big workout!

Stitched Nested Labels

Here’s a close up – showing the Smoky Slate cutout popped up on Dimensionals. The Bird Ballard Trinket is attached with the Mossy Meadow Linen Thread which is in the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo.

Free As A Bird
These dies stitch on the cutout piece of cardstock, as well as the negative left behind. I used the negative to create the banners by running them through my cutting machine again to get the correct height and the stitching top and bottom.
I also made a similar card to send to my Upline – we swap a few cards whenever there is a b=new catalogue. The different DSP creates quite a different look!
Free As A Bird
To soften the patterened background I added Old Olive Vellum (one of three colours in the Perennial Essence 12×12″ Vellum)  You can see the effect in the close up below.
Free As A Bird

Rather than a trinket, on this one I added a diecut flower (stamped in Black Momento)
Here’s both of them together.

Free As A Bird

My project in June’s Tutorial Bundle also features products from the Bird Ballard Suite – including another way to use those gorgeous Stitched Nested Label Dies! Here is a sneak peek of my tutorial project.

Catalogue Sneak Peeks for the ESAD Blog Hop

The release of a new Annual Catalogue is an exciting – and busy – time in the Stampin’ Up! year! As well as highlighting those items that are retiring soon, we are busy making samples to share using products that are about to be released. And sometimes – like today’s Blog Hop – we give a Sneak Peek of what we’ve been busy creating!

I’ve got four sneak peek cards to share with you today – two each from two team crafting days. These all feature about to be released products!

thINK Creative Team Crafting Day

In late May I always host a Team Crafting Day for members of my thINK Creative Team so we can get together and create projects using items from the new catalogue. It’s great to spend a day with crafty friends and to get lots of preparation done before the catalogue goes live. At my day last weekend, team members could participate in a Shoebox swap and/or craft freestyle!

My Shoebox swap was a pair of Memories & More cards. To show how quick and simple cards made with Memories & More Card Packs can be, participants got to make a card featuring each of the two available packs (Come Sail Away and Magnolia Lane). Both using the Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes as their base. Of course, everyone’s finished cards were different as there are many different cards in each pack. Here are the two samples I made

Memories & More

  • Stamps: none!
  • Ink: none!
  • Card: Magnolia Lane Large Specialty Memories & More Cards & Envelopes
  • Accessories: Come Sail Away and Magnolia Lane Memories & More Card packs, Baker’s Twine, Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo
  • Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots
  • Tools: none!

I love how the kraft card bases are sized perfectly for the Memories and More Cards.

Sally’s Team Crafting Day

Then yesterday, I got to “do-it-all-again” as one of my team members (Sally Wheoki aka Stamped Wishes) hosted another team crafting day! So it was more good company and fun crafting in preparation for the new catalogue!

I offered to do a Make’n’Take as well as my Shoebox Swap, and we agreed I’d feature the Come Sail Away Product Suite. I have made display boards for several of the new suites – including Come Sail Away.

Come Sail Away Display boards

A great way to see all the products in the Suite.

My Shoebox Swap

Come Sail Away

As this was a Shoebox Swap, it was important to have a project that didn’t take too long. So I pre-cut the circles and had post-it notes set in the correct place for everyone to do their sponging of the sea on the larger circle. I had cut this so there was a straight edge which would go along the card edge.

After sponging the sea, the yacht was stamped in Momento Black onto this circle as well as onto scraps of Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The Whisper White sails and the Crumb Cake boat were fussy cut, and then adhered onto the complete boat image with glue. This circle was attached to the card front with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto the smaller white circle, close to one side. This was glued to the front of the card so that the sentiment was straight and a small amount of the circle hung off the edge of the card. I trimmed this excess off, attached the embellishment with glue dots and tied the Baker’s Twine around the card.

Inside the card the compass image was stamped in Crumb Cake.

Come SaIl Away

  • Stamps: Sailing Home
  • Ink: Seaside Spray, Basic Black, Crumb Cake
  • Card: Thick Whisper White, Seaside Spray, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: Baker’s Twine, Sail Away Trinkets
  • Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots
  • Tools: Stitched Shapes Dies, Paper Snips

And lastly – my Make’n’Take:

Sail Away

  • Stamps: Sailing Home
  • Ink: Night of Navy
  • Card: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake
  • Accessories: Baker’s Twine, Sail Away Trinkets, Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  • Adhesives: Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots
  • Tools:Smooth Sailing Dies, Stamparatus

The DSP was matted onto Night of Navy and then attached to the card front with glue. To be time efficient and ensure all the stamped diecuts were lined up correctly, I had again pre-cut all the die shapes and set up a template to be used on the Stamparatus to do the stamping with.

s

To make this, I firstly stamped all three of the images that would be die cut onto a large piece of Whisper White. I then diecut these images which left a space where each person could place their diecuts and stamp all the images at the same time.

Come Sail Away

The lighthouse and label were adhered to the card front with dimensionals and the anchor to the inside of the card with glue. Finally a piece of Baker’s Twine was tied to the anchor from the Sail away Trinkets and attached to the card with glue dots.

I’ve had fun making these cards, fun seeing others make them at team crafting days, and fun now sharing them with you!

I’m sure this Come Sail Away Product Suite is going to be a very popular item when the catalogue goes live on Tuesday 4th June.

It’s time to check out more fabulous Sneak Peeks!

May Greek Isles Blog Hop – Relaxed Birthday Wishes for a Good Man

Greek Isles Incentive Trip Achievers Blog HopThose hopping today are all Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who have met the requirements, and earned the amazing 2019  Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip – while everyone can try,  only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year. Of the about 50,000 demonstrators from throughout the world 445 earned this particular trip.

And it is getting very close! The Greek Isles Cruise departs from Rome on 7th July, but Roy and I depart New Zealand on the 25th June as we are holidaying in Italy before the trip!

As Achieving Demonstrators, we hop together once a month to show you ideas and designs using “current” Stampin’ Up!® products. Our May Hop is featuring sneak peeks from the new 2019/2020 catalogue – so technically these products will be current on 4th June. Though of course demonstrators get early access to a selection of the products! That could be you too!

My Blog Hop Project is hubby Roy’s Birthday card from last week!

Project – Relaxing Birthday wishes:

Good Man Relaxed Birthday

I thought the image from the new A Good Man stamp set was perfect for Roy’s Birthday as we look forward to our trip away – hopefully he won’t be the only one lounging on a deck chair!

The card base is one of the new 2019-2021 InColors – Pretty Peacock. This colour is similar to the retiring Tranquil Tide – but much bluer. I also used Pretty Peacock to watercolour the shirt and hat of the image, which I had stamped in Stazon as I knew I was going to be water colouring. Here’s a close-up of the coloured image.

Good Man Relaxed Birthday

Isn’t that stitched edge cute! That was made using one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies. This set of dies has 8 hexagonal shaped dies as well as one straight edged. They all have stitching on either side of the cutting line so not only can you use the hexagon shaped labels, you can use the resulting negative shape once the label has been used. For my card, I trimmed the “peak” off one edge to make a banner.

I chose this particular Designer Series Paper (DSP) for Roy’s card as he is an engineer and I decided the instruments would be a perfect contrast to the relaxed image.

Good Man Relaxed Birthday

You can see a little strip of DSP on the inside of the card too!

Thank you for joining us today – we are so happy that you are taking part in our blog hop.

Make sure that you don’t miss out on one blog as there are some incredible designs you are going to see today to inspire you.

Remember that currently, you are at my blog Jackie Noble | creativeJax

As a bonus project – this is a card Kenzie, one of my downline made on Sunday at our team crafting day.

May Design it with DSP Blog Hop – Mosaic Mood Sneak Peek

Design it With Designer Series PaperWelcome to this month’s Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in. We have come together to share projects focusing on the beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogues.

Each month we will be featuring a different designer series paper and in May we are giving you a sneak peek of an about-to-be released DSP – the pretty Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper. This paper will be available to purchase from 4th June 2019 when the 2019-2020 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalogue goes live.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP

Here’s all the important info:

MOSAIC MOOD SPECIALTY 12″ X 12″ (30.5 X 30.5 cm) Designer Series Paper   149500

Mosaic tile designs and floral imagery with shiny accents.

* 12 sheets: 2 each of 6 double-sided designs
* 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Coordinating colours: Blushing Bride, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Mint Macaron, Sot Suede, Terracotta Tile, Very Vanilla, Whisper White

As we get ready for the release of a new catalogue, many of us Demonstrators participate in “swaps”. This is where we design a project,  make several of the design and swap them with others. It’s a great way to get a variety of projects.

I am part of Jacque Williams’ wider team – the Creative Inkers – and at tomorrow’s team training day there are a couple of swaps we could sign up to – even if we are not attending in person – like me. So mine were posted off at the beginning of the week.

Here’s my swap – featuring the products from the Mosaic Mood Suite – including the Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP

I love this card fold as you get to enjoy both sides of the DSP. Check out the inside of the card.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP

As this paper is a heavy weight paper it is suitable to use as the card front without needing to be matted – so the pattern on the back is also visible!

The card base is another sneak peek – one of the new 2019-2021 InColors – Terracotta Tile.

I’ve also used that colour to stamp the leafy images on both the inside and outside of the card. I used just part of the large tree foliage image from the memorable Mosaic set to stamp these leafy patterns. I can imagine them in purple as wisteria! The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP

I’ve stamped the sentiment twice – once in Garden Green on Whisper White and once on Blushing Bride in Terracotta Tile. The image on the Whisper White is punched out using the coordinating Timeless Label Punch, while the word “Kindness” has been fussy cut out of the Blushing Bride cardstock and then layered onto the Whisper White.

That thread behind the sentiment is from the 1/4″ Mint Macaron Textile Ribbon. To get the threads, I cut a 20cm length of the ribbon, then cut it in half length-ways. I could then pull the threads free and put on the back of the sentiment.

The shiny surface of the sentiment was achieved using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. I wrote over the word with the nib while gently squeezing the bottle. Be gentle or you will end up with large blobs of glue! The Fine Tip Glue dries clear and shiny – a perfect match for the Specialty DSP. You can see some of the shiny accents on the DSP in the photo below.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSPI do love taking part in the swaps even if I can’t actually be at the training day in person. Here were some of my swaps ready to be put into the mailer earlier in the week.

Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP

I’ll be waiting excitedly for my Happy Mail to come back with everyone else’s swap projects.

Thanks for joining me on our Design it With Designer Series Paper Blog Hop featuring the Mosaic Mood Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Please check out all the other amazing creations by the rest of the Design Team!

May All Stars Tutorial Bundle Blog Hop – Together

All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team

Here’s a look at the current All Star Tutorial Bundle Design Team. I’m humbled to be part of such an incredible group of amazing women and have them as Part of My Story!.
2019 All Star Design Team

The team is ready to help you create beautiful handmade projects featuring Stampin’ Up! products. We have a May Tutorial Bundle and a Blog Hop for you.

All Star Tutorial Bundle

Our Design team has created a bundle of 12 tutorials using Stampin’ Up! products.

It’s full of fabulous projects you don’t want to miss out on.There are even some projects designed with items from the soon to be released 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue! Here’s a Sneak Peak of what you will receive in the bundle.

This month I’m sharing a 12×12″ scrapbook layout. This was one of the projects at my recent Easter Creative Escape and like my Tutorial Bundle Project, it features products from the gorgeous Floral Romance Suite.

Floral Romance Scrapbook Layout

The Floral Romance Suite colours are: Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, Fresh Fig, Whisper White. I have loved the coordinating 12×12 cardstock and the Specialty Designer Series Paper packs. Perfect for larger projects – like full-page layouts.

You can see in the photo below that the top layer – a gorgeous patterned vellum – is not stuck down completely. It can be lifted to show a place for journalling which is then hidden when the page is flat. (I hadn’t actually done my journalling when I took the photo!)

Floral Romance Scrapbook Layout

As well as coordinating paper and cardstock, the suite has several other great items. In the close-up below you can see some of them.

  • Frosted Flower Embellishments
  • Floral Romance Seals
  • Petal Pink/Whisper White Variegated Ribbon
  • Coordinating Dies

Floral Romance Scrapbook layout

The trellis die is one of several in the die set that is independent of a particular stamp. I love, love, love this long skinny die – and also the oval label with its classy patterned edge.

Floral Romance

While this suite is called Floral Romance – several of those dies and stamps are not “Floral” – nor necessarily “romantic”!

The sentiment I chose is perfect for friends and family too!

Wonderful Romance stamp set

The gold Embossing ties in with the gold coloured Seal.

I have coloured the floral image in the top corner with blends. While we don’t have Fresh Fig as a Stampin Blend colour, I found the Rich Razzleberry worked well with Pink Petal and Mossy Meadow

Wonderful Romance Stamp Set

As I said – this page was one of the projects I designed for my Easter Creative Escape Retreat, and it seemed appropriate to use it for a fun photo we took on Easter Sunday.

Floral Romance

I was very impressed that those ears stayed on almost everyone for the whole day!

We sure had fun – and I loved using this suite over the weekend as a featured product in goodies bags, pillow gifts and projects.

Here’s a snap showing lots of projects featuring the Floral Romance Suite.

And here is a sneak peek of my tutorial project.

April Design it with DSP Blog Hop – Classic Garage

classic garage dsp

Design it With Designer Series PaperWelcome to this month’s Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop.

Our Design Team is made up of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from throughout the world – one from each of the countries/markets that Stampin’ Up! has a presence in. We have come together to share projects focusing on the beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the Stampin’ Up! Catalogues.

Each month we will be featuring a different designer series paper and in March we are featuring a DSP from the Occasions Catalogue – the Classic Garage DSP

Here’s all the important info:

Classic Garage 6″ X 6″ (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper   148482

Cog wheels and oil cans and screwnuts and pliers,
Screwdrivers, road maps, street signs, and fins,
These are a car lover’s favourite things!

* 48 sheets: 4 each of 12 double-sided designs
* 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm)
* Acid free
* Lignin free

Coordinating colours: Basic Black, Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Tranquil Tide, Very Vanilla, Whisper White

I recently made these cute gift bags & cards for some special international visitors to New Zealand who I had seen just the week before in Australia!

They were traveling by van in Australia so I thought the Classic Garage DSP with Tranquil Tide bases were perfect for the three men in the group.

The sentiment is from One Wild Ride – again, perfect for the purpose of my gifting.

Here’s a close up of the sentiment – don’t you love the multicoloured effect?!

To make this graduated colour effect, I inked up one of the soon to be retired Uninked Spectrum Pad. I’m rather sad to see these retire as I have loved the many different ways they can be used. The Uninked pads are on low Inventory in the South Pacific – so if you would like one or two – get in quick and order them now – before they are gone!Unimked Spectrum Pad

I used colours from the DSP in my Spectrum Pad – Basic Black, Smoky Slate (instead of Basic Gray), Tranquil Tide, Crushed Curry, and Real Red.

There are several videos on YouTube with advice on how to ink these pads up and put them into action – just Google Stampin’ Up! Spectrum Pad.

The second gift and card featured one of the other DSPs in the set – it has cute little road signs.

And the third card featured DSP with gauges all over it – too cute!

Classic Garage DSP

You can see some stamping on the inside of the card – here’s a better look at that below.

Love how that oil-leak-looking image has turned out using the Spectrum Pads.

Thanks for joining me on our Design it With Designer Series Paper Blog Hop featuring the Classic Garage Designer Series Paper.

Please check out all the other amazing creations by the rest of the Design Team!

I’m excited to share a card I’ve made for a very special event I’m attending tomorrow – the Stamp Out Cancer Event in Victoria, Australia.

Some Background:

This fundraising event is a day of crafting organised by the wonderful Pam Jorgensen, a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator based in Dimboola, and some of her amazing Team – the PJ Stampers. I met Pam at a Stampin’ Up! Event – On Stage – and we became friends.

The Stamp Out Cancer Day raises funds towards a local Cancer Treatment Centre. As my original career was as a Radiation Therapist, and then as lecturer training Radiation Therapists, cancer care is close to my heart. Having somewhere close to home for patients to receive care makes a huge difference for their treatments.

So you may be able imagine my delight for Pam when she was awarded the “Heart of Stampin’ Up!”for the Stamp Out Cancer Event! I decided a crafty day in Australia for such a worthy cause was needed and booked this trip last year. I’ve been looking forward to seeing Pam and her team, and crafting with them and their guests, and contributing to the fundraising while doing so!

Of course, when Pam asked if I’d present I was only too happy to pitch in. And, when Pam said “Can you use the Spectrum Ink Pads?” I was even more delighted. I’ve had a couple since the 2018-2019 Annual Catalogue came out in June last year – and hadn’t even inked them up to use, so this was the perfect opportunity. So thanks Pam!

My April Blog Hop Project

Bloom to Bloom spectrum card.

Many of the elements on the card come from the Happiness Blooms Product Suite – including the suite colours of Pineapple Punch, Night of Navy, Calypso Choral, Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover.

The Spectrum Pads come uninked, and you choose what colours you’d like in them. I’ve used the Pineapple Punch, Night of Navy, Calypso Choral, Lovely Lipstick and Call Me Clover Re-Inker bottles to add colour to each of the individual ink pads which make up the Spectrum Ink Pad.

I’ve then used this inked Spectrum Ink Pad to create the colour block behind the Large flower image. I stamped the Ink Pad onto a large clear block (E Block ), spritzed it with water and then stamped this directly onto Watercolour Paper.

Once, completely dry, I dropped a few droplets of water onto the paper to form the “splodges”.

Bloom to Bloom

I stamped the large flower head and stem images from the Bloom to Bloom stamp set in Night of Navy. I used the Stamparatus to stamp several times in order to get a really dark image.

Taking a piece of Lovely Lipstick cardstock I ran it through the Big Shot with the Dot to Dot Texture Embossing Folder and then attached the watercolour paper  this to a Night of Navy Card Base

With the “de-bossed” side up, I’ve attached the stamped watercolour paper and then tied some Calypso Choral ribbon around both before attaching these to one if the Night of Navy Memories & More Card bases.

I’ve popped on the versatile “for You” sentiment, and added some enamel dots.

The offset layout is carried through to the inside of the card along with the flower – which is inked with the Spectrum Ink Pad.

The Memories & More Card bases are a lighter card stock than our usual card stock. I usually add a mat to the inside as well as the outside of the card as this provides the strength in the card base that I prefer.

I had such fun with the Spectrum Ink Pads as I was making several samples for my presentation and am so looking forward to sharing them with the crafty peeps tomorrow.
Thanks again Pam for helping my use goodies my Stampin’ Up! stash!!!

And here is a sneak peek of my tutorial project.

Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop – Painted Seasons

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder

Design it With Designer Series Paper

Welcome to this month’s Design it with Designer Series Paper Blog Hop.

Catalogues.

Each month we will be featuring a different designer series paper and in March we are featuring a Sale-A-Bration DSP – the beautiful Painted Seasons 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.

Painted Seasons - Sale-A-Bration DSP

Here’s all the important info:

Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper  (149574)

  • 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)

Painted Seasons Bundle SAB

Also during March – Stampin’ Up! has several limited-time products available that coordinate with some of the Sale-A-Bration products. One of the Sale-A-Bration Coordination products is the Four Seasons set of framelits which coordinate with the Painted Seasons stamp set.

Four Seasons Framelits

Design it with DSP Blog Hop Project

For my Blog Hop Project this month I’m featuring the Painted Seasons DSP in a cute folder that holds four Notecards and envelopes.

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder

This folder is “an oldie but a goodie” and when I saw the Painted Seasons DSP I knew it would look fabulous as a folder.

There is no cutting or sticking needed when you make the folder – only scoring and folding!

I started with a full 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP and here are the scoring measurements I used.

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder scorelines

I’ve made these from other sizes too, but you won’t fit the Notecards into a smaller folder.

After I’d scored and folded the DSP to make the folder, I tied a piece of Whisper White Flax Ribbon around it to keep it securely closed when full.

This is the inside with the four Whisper White notecards & Envelopes in place.

Painted Seasons Notecard Folder

Here are the four matching notecards:

Each notecard features one of the DSPs in the Painted Seasons DSP. The technique I’ve used with ripping the DSP means both sides of the DSP is visible.

I started with a piece of DSP that was the same size as the notecard in one direction and longer in the other. (You could do this either way and with any sized card.) In the photo below you can see how I’ve torn the paper on a slight angle.

I’ve then turned one of the pieces of DSP over …

… and adhered them onto the card front.

Because the DSP was longer than the card front, the angles tuck under and over each other and the whole of the card front is covered.

Looking at the four cards again – you can see the different DSPs. You can also see that to each notecard I’ve added a piece of the Whisper White Flax Ribbon behind a sentiment which is stamped in Early Espresso onto a coordinating coloured cardstock. These sentiments are from another Sale-A-Bration product – the Part of My Story stamp set.Part of my Story

They’ve been punched out using the Story Label Punch. Each label has an Early Espresso coloured label behind it.

Story label Punch

You can see all the Sale-A-Bration Coordination products by clicking on the image below
