CASEing the Catty – Blog Hop – CTC84 – Love & Sympathy

Hi All

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop where we are taking inspiration from the “Love and Sympathy” section of the Stampin’ Up! 2016/2017 Annual Catalogue (pages 44 – 55).

There’s lots of goodness in these pages!CASEing the Catty Blog Hop 83 - Thanks

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or if you’ve hopped on over from Monique or Rebecca a BIG Hello!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page if you get lost along the way.

This week I’ve used two cards in my CASE. Firstly I started with the card on page 52 which features the images from the Best Birds stamp set and elements from the Birds & Blooms Thinlits. Secondly I took my colour palette from the card at the bottom left corner of page 48.

Merged together and this is what you get!

2016_06_26_creativejax_ctc84_Best_Birds

As you can see I’ve kept the layout and elements pretty much like the original – though I did use the mat dimensions more like the second card. The colours are Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Peekaboo Peach, Old Olive, Watermelon Wonder and Copper.

On a piece of Very Vanilla I stamped the hatched image in Versamark Ink, added Copper embossing powder and heat embossed. I love the texture and shine of the copper embossing. Over the embossed image I used my Aqua Painter to put a wash of Peekaboo Peach on as well as a few random dots of colour and then stamped a few flowers also in Peekaboo Peach.  I got my needle out and stitched a few stitches with the Copper Metallic thread.

I stamped and copper embossed one of the two birds in the Best Birds set and the branch image onto Crumb Cake cardstock. Then cut these and the small bird using thinlits from the Birds & Blooms set.

Helpful Hint: It is easy to distort the branch image when you put it on the block and then it won’t fit the thinlit. I’ve found the easiest way to overcome this is to cut out the shape first and then stamp the image on to the cutout. Easy with photopolymer stamps.

The Old Olive strip is from the Serene Scenery DSP stack, the Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace is a great match and you can see a little part of a WaterMelon Wonder doilie peeking out from under the lace. The copper embossed sentiment is on a piece of Very Vanilla that has been flah=gged with Triple Banner Punch,

This closeup shows the layers of elements and that gorgeous copper embossing.

Stampin’ Up! Caseing the Catty – Blog Hop – Thanks

Hi All

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop. It’s been a while!!!CASEing the Catty Blog Hop 83 - Thanks

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or if you’ve hopped on over from Monique or Elizabeth a HUGE hello – or Hola or Bonjour or Hallo or Caio! I’ve used them all in the last few weeks!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page if you get lost along the way.

I have not posted here for more than a month as I have been aways so there’s a few topics to cover – maybe grab a cuppa and relax!

  • This week’s  CTC Challenge – of course!
  • Last week’s CTC Challenge – oops missed that week passing!
  • Invitation to my Online Facebook Party – Celebrate the Catty the Mediterranean Way!
  • Call for CTC Design Team Members (open to New Zealand and Australian Demos)
  • The New 2016 – 2017 Annual Catalogue

Roy (hubby) and I flew out for Barcelona on Friday 20th May – less than 48 hours after our daughter graduated from Victoria University here in Wellington. That was super exciting and a very proud afternoon. And what a month we have had since then.

The “Thanks” theme of this week’s challenge is very relevant to me at the moment – I am so very grateful to all those who helped me earn my first Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip – aka the Grand Vacation. Again thanks to my family, friends, team, Stampin’ Up! and all my wonderful customers and class attendees – I could not have earn this reward without your support – so thank you, thank you, thank you.

The Grand Vacation 2106 was a 7 day Mediterranean Cruise where demonstrators and our guests were treated so well. The generosity of Stampin’ Up! was overwhelming and I will be forever grateful.

One of the exciting things that happened every day was the “Achievers” (that was on our name badge and how we were collectively referred to) could spin-the-wheel in the Hospitality Suite and receive product from the new catalogue. Here I am spinning on our first day – Sunday 22 May.

creativeJax_spinning_the_wheel

We were spinning for one of the three Ombre Stampin’ Pads – and I got Rich Razzleberry! If you are wondering why there are four colours on the wheel – the fourth was a “Choose your own Colour”!

This Week’s CTC Project

I’m featuring the ombre Stampin’ Pad that I won on the Cruise in this week’s CTC project.

Rich Razzleberry Ombre Stampin' Pad

This is the card I’m CASEing – it’s on page 41 of the Annual catalogue. It’s a quick and easy card – just what I needed.

Screen Shot 2016-06-18 at 10.52.50 pm

And here’s my take on the card –

2016_06_creativejax_ctc83_thanks1

I’ve used the original  layout and left it almost unchanged but mixed up the colours of course – a base of Rich Razzleberry cardstock to tie in with the stamping I was going to do with my ombre Stampin’ Pad.

The sentiment is from the Scenic Sayings stamp set  and I’ve stamped this onto Whisper White card stock using the Ombre Stampin’ pad. There is definitely a technique to getting an even gradient of colour and the video below(by Stampin’ Up!) explains and demonstrates the technique simply.

If you don’t already follow the Stampin’ Up! You Tube Channel – you should! It contains lots of informative videos. Here’s the link to it.

This closeup shows the gradient of colour a little more clearly.

2016_06_creativejax_ctc83_thanks_closeup1

The other elements on the card include Washi from the Affectionately Yours product suite, the Cucumber Crush thick Bakers Twine and the star is one of the punch out elements from the Oh Happy Day Card Kit. Love how there are always extra components left over from the kits that I can use in another project!

Last week’s CTC Project!

I mentioned at the beginning of my post that I was pleased this was a quick and easy card. I’ve been pretty busy since we landed back in New Zealand at midnight on Monday night.

I had my Catty launched yesterday so have been busy getting things ready for that – as well as catching up on jobs that pile up after 3 1/2 hour away! I was super keen to join the CTC Blog Hop this week and so on Friday I CASEd one of the gift packages from page 26 of the catty.

2016_06_creativejax_ctc82_christmas2016_06_creativejax_ctc82_christmas_hanging

I obviously had lost track of the weeks as I thought we were doing Christmas today … but no … that was last week! Which seems to have completely slipped past my consciousness!

Anyway – I love, love, love the music paper in the This Christmas Specialty DSP and thought those cute Clear Tiny Treat Boxes would look good hanging in the Christmas Tree. I may have to make some more!  I’ve included all the products I used in the project in the table below.

Facebook Party – Online now!

As I said earlier – the Incentive Trip was simply fantastic!

As we travelled through Europe for the two weeks after the trip, I was away for when the catalogue went live. I wanted to share a few things about the trip – including the incredible gifts Stampin’ Up! gave us.

So I’ve created an Online Party – a Facebook event.

If you have a Facebook account – please join the party event – you’ll get to see the new catty with a mediterranean twist! It started earlier today and runs for 7 days.  There will be product reveals, samples, info about where were on the corresponding cruise day, some games and a spot prize or two! I’ll post a few time per day and you can just call in anytime it suits you. Hope you can join me for a little fun!

Here’s the link – Check it out!

I did my first ever Live Feed this afternoon and will be doing more over the week so they should improve!

You can see another couple of cards i made using the Ombre Stampin’ Pad in the event page – done without moving the stamp around on the ink pad. What a different result!

Stampin’ Up! CTC Blog Hop – Going Global inspires Project Life Filler Cards!

Hi All

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.CASEing the Catty Blog Hop 77 - Occassions Catty pages 38-49

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or if you’ve hopped on over from    Judy   or  Rebecca      a BIG hello!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page if you get lost along the way.

This week we are taking our inspiration from pages 38 – 49 of the Occasions Catalogue – which features the versatile Going Places Suite of Product..

occ2016-sp_09

I have loved this suite and was very sad to see it on the retiring list.

For my CASE this week though, I’m not using the suite itself – but have taken inspiration from these 2 layouts which are on page 38.

Occasions16_p38_b

Rather than make a card – today I wanted to do a Project Life layout as it is (Inter)National Scrapbooking Day. I’ve also been wanting to get some pages of my niece’s wedding done – which was last year – so today seemed like a great reason to start!

Originally I was going to use the sentiments from Going Global stamp set as several of the sentiments are ideal.

But when I started looking in the Love Story Card Collection I decided to only use those in my layout – not a stamp or any ink in sight!Stampin Up Love Story Card Collectio

Amie & Josh’s wedding colours were black and white and bright red – so the Love Story collection was ideal! Like most of the current Project Life Collections, this collection is retiring on the 31st May. Some of the collections have already sold out, but as I write this post Love Story is still available.

Here are the two filler cards I made.

2016_creativejax_ctc77_goingglobal2 2016_creativejax_ctc77_goingglobal4

For the splash of colour – I also used another retiring product  – Real Red 1/4″cotton ribbon. This ribbon is a really versatile width and ties beautiful bows as it is so soft.

Here’s a close-up of the “Smitten” card.

2016_creativejax_ctc77_goingglobal3

The close-up shows that the sentiment is silver – it’s from one of the specialty cards from the Love Story Accessory Pack. I took Kylie Bertucci’s advice  – “If you love it – chop it”!  The heart shape is also cut out from another card – one of the 4×4 cards. #loveitchopit

I wanted both of the cards on the one page and in the Project Life Pocket Pages Variety Pack 2  there is a page that has both portrait and landscape  – together on one page – Great! Here are the three different pages in the pack and I used the centre one.

I’m so happy with the final layout.

2016_creativejax_ctc77_goingglobal1
It’s hard to believe that Amie and Josh’s wedding was over a year ago!  I’m so pleased that I’ve started getting some photos off my phone and into an album – and it was super quick using the Project Life by Stampin’ Up! card collection and accessories.    I cut out the heart by hand and used a couple of punches to cut out the circles. I love it that the card which I punched the circle mat out of, then became a frame!    #loveitchopit

I had lots of fun putting this layout together and it brought back memories of a very happy day. Do hope you’ve enjoyed my project for this week’s CTC Blog Hop. Leave me a comment below (right at the bottom!) – it’s great to hear from you out there 🙂

And remember – CASEing the Catty is running a monthly challenge – so you can play along too!

We’d love you to share your own project that takes inspiration from pages 38 – 49 of the Occasions Catalogue. Just click on the Join Challenge Button below and you can add your project at the linky you will find at the bottom of the post.

Mediterranean Achievers Blog Hop APRIL 2016

2016 GV Blog Header

Hi All
Welcome to the Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop for April. I am very excited to be part of my first Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop – and very excited to say this time next month my husband and I will be on the Mediterranean Cruise – my first ever Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip! Those hopping today are all Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world who have met the requirements, and earned the amazing Stampin’ Up! Incentive trip – while everyone can try, only a limited number of demos (less than 1% of all demonstrators) reach the level required to earn the trip each year.

Thanks again to Stampin’ Up! and to all the many people who helped me earn this magnificent reward.
The Grand Vacation Achievers Blog Hop theme this month is Baby Love. We are sure that you will find some incredible inspiration from the projects that you are about to see.

You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Jackie Noble –  or may have come from the person previous to me in the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects. At the moment you are visiting Jackie Noble – aka CreativeJax.
Over the last few months I’ve had two very special people – both named Emma – give birth to beautiful babies – one a girl and the other a boy. Congrats again to both pairs of Mums and Dads and the new families.  Each family got a handmade card – of course –  along with an album containing cards from Stampin’ Up!’s Project Life (PL) Hello Baby Girl or Baby Boy Collection and matching accessories.
Today I’m sharing the cards I made and one of the albums.
But first – this is a nappy (aka diaper) cake I made for one of the baby showers.
creativeJax Made with LoveI knew that I was going to be doing a PL album when the babies were born – but didn’t know if they’d be girls or boys – so I themed the cake in the “gender neutral” colours of the Hello Baby collections – Basic Grey, So Saffron and Mint Macaroon. The images on the side were sized for pockets in the future PL albums and the prospective parents were told to hold onto the these. The onsies were made using the gorgeous “Made with Love” stamp set and Baby’s First Framelits.

The first baby born was acute wee girl – here’s the card celebrating her birth:
creativeJax Something for Baby
The images in the card are from two sets that both co-ordinate with the Baby’s First Framelits Made with Love and Something for Baby. The Framelits and the Made with Love set are going to be available in the 2016-2917 catalogue, but the Something for Baby set is retiring. So that cute pram, pin, hanger, toy and duck will all be gone soon! Also retiring is the Something for Baby Bundle – a fantastic value where you get both the stamp set and the Framelits together at a 15% discount.  In this card I added in Blushing Bride which is used in the Hello Baby Girl card collection.

Next up, a gorgeous wee boy was born – and here’s the card celebrating his birth:creativejax_Made_with_loveI’ve used the Made with Love stamp set for two of the onsies and for the third and the Baby’s First Framelit to cut the third onsies from a Project Life Card – aren’t those hearts cute! The extra colour in the card is Lost Lagoon which is retiring at the end of May. Those stripes are from the 2015-2017 InColor Envelope Paper – also retiring soon. I’ve loved the weight of this envelope paper – not just for making envelopes but also as a layer in cards.

And here are some images of the PL album – all ready for pictures of  that stunning wee boy.
creativeJax_HelloBaby
This 6″x8″ album is a great size to put together and the cards in the Hello Baby  collections are stunning – I’m so pleased these sets will be available in the new catalogue.
It was such fun making these projects to celebrate the arrival of two precious new lives and I’ve loved sharing them here!

Thanks for taking part in our blog hop, there are so many amazing ideas and inspiration you don’t want to miss. Remember that currently you are at my blog – Jackie Noble, so check the blog hop line up list below to see who is next in the list.

As a final treat – here are the cute cupcakes my daughter Beth made for the baby shower – they not only looked great – they tasted sumptuous too!

There’s information below about the products I’ve used in these projects. If you live in New Zealand and would like a demonstrator to order through – I’d love to have you as my customer.

CASEing the Catty – CTC – Shine On meets Enjoy the Little Things

Hi All

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.

This week we are taking our inspiration from pages 30-33 of the Occasions Catalogue – which includes the luxurious Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and two fabulous project kits – You’re So Lovely and Enjoy the Little Things.

CASEing the Catty Blog Hop 74 - Pages 30 -33 - Shine On DSP

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or if you’ve hopped on over from Liz a BIG hello!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page if you get lost along the way.

This Shine On DSP is Kraft paper base with printed patterns on both sides. One side is printed in one of three colours (Bermuda Bay, Watermelon Wonder or Cucumber Crush) while the other side on all the sheets is printed in silver foils designs – six different ones. This combination makes the DSP really versatile!

Here’s a picture showing all 12 patterns – and you get two of each in your 12 sheet pack!

140579_shine_on_specialty_DSP

Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper

I fell in love the Enjoy the Little Things Project Kit as soon as I saw it. I think the sentiments conveyed are positive and uplifting – and who doesn’t need that!  I get to see my completed clipboard everyday as it is in my craft studio. It’s great being able to change the display regularly. I CASE’d page with the nine butterflies way back in January – you can check out that blog post HERE.

Enjoy the Little Things Project Kit

Enjoy the Little Things Project Kit

So I decided to take another of the display pages and CASE it using the Shine on DSP for this week’s challenge – can you pick which page I CASE’d?

creativeJax CTC74 Blog Hop - Shine On meets Enjoy the Little Things

While diamonds are traditionally given for the gold 50th wedding anniversary, I thought that a 25th Anniversary was worthy of gems and the DSP was perfect!

While the Enjoy the Little Things Kit has pre-cut pieces for the sunburst (and everything else!) recreating it in the Shine On DSP and Silver Foil was a breeze with the Sunburst Framelit Dies.

140617 - Sunburst Thinlits Die

Sunburst Thinlit Die

The photo above doesn’t really show the shine that the DSP and foil have – so here’s a close-up at a different angle.

creativeJax CTC74 Blog Hop - Shine On meets Enjoy the Little Things

How amazing do those silver foil numbers look? While I haven’t used them for the front of the card, the Large Number Framelits have a matching stamp set – Number of Years. The stamp set and framelits are available individually or as a number bundle at a 15% discount. I did use the stamp set for the sentiment on the inside of the card.

I carried the DSP through to the back of the card too.

creativeJax CTC74 Blog Hop - Shine On meets Enjoy the Little Things

What you can’t really tell from the above photos is that the card front is vellum! Here’s a couple of photos in different light to show you what I mean.

creativeJax CTC74 Blog Hop - Shine On meets Enjoy the Little Things

Adhering vellum poses some difficulties – especially if the back of the vellum is visible, which it is on the inside of this card. So here’s how I went about constructing this card.

Instructions

Two pieces of Shine On DSP – 14.8cm x 10.5cm (1/4 of an A4 size)

Silver Foil – 16cm x 12cm

Vellum – 21cm x 10.5cm – scored at 14.8cm

Whisper White – 14.8cm x 10.5cm (1/4 of an A4 size)

  • Cut a sunburst from the Shine On DSP and the Silver Foil.
  • Using Fast Fuse, adhere together with the DSP on top and with a slight offset so that you can see some of the silver foil behind the rays of DSP
  • Trim the Silver foil so that none extends past the ends of the DSP rays – i.e. the completed size is 14.8cm x 10.5cm
  • Using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen, adhere sunbursts to the larger rectangle of vellum (matches the size of the sunbursts). The Fine-Tip Glue Pen is not visible on the inside of the card – Yay!
  • Using Fast Fuse, adhere the smaller rectangle of the vellum to the inside of the card back. Make sure the card front and back are aligned correctly – the edges should form a continuous straight edge so the sides of the card will match when the card is closed.
  • Using the Standard Premium Crease Pad instead of the top cutting plate, run your Whisper White sheet through the BigShot with the Sunburst Thinlit The crease pad gives enough pressure to leave an impression of the sunburst on the card stock without cutting it out completely.
  • Silver emboss the greeting – this is positioned so as not to be visible through the vellum when the card is closed.
  • Adhere the Whisper White card inner to the DSP back of the card – on the inside so the vellum is sandwiched between the Whisper White and the DSP.
  • Silver emboss the greeting – this is positioned so as not to be visible through the vellum when the card is closed.

Here’s the inside of the card – both before and after the inner has been adhered.

Stampin’ Up! CASEing the Catty – Honeycomb Happiness – Sale-A-Bration

Hi There

Two posts from me in three days – that might be a record!

12465768_10153777824802158_1363854616063678406_o

I’m back at CASE-ing the Catty Hog Hop today to CASE a final Sale-A-Bration project before this amazing promotion ends on Thursday (31st March).

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or have hopped here from Judy’s blog – A BIG WELCOME!

There have been so many stunning items available for FREE with purchases of $110 (NZD) since SAB started early in January – and there have been even more amazing projects created with them! I wonder what your favourite SAB item has been? Leave me a comment below to let me know!

For this week’s CTC Hop I’m featuring the very cute Honeycomb Happiness stamp set …

2016_03_creativejax_ctc72_honeycombhapiness

… and have taken my inspiration from the card on the left of the photo below …

US_AU_EU_16_SAB_Demo_Images-12

I just love the way this set works with the Honeycomb embellishments from the Occasions Catalogue.

Here’s my card, which I made recently for a friend.

2013_03_creativejax_CTC72_honeycomb_happiness

I decided to treat her to a bunch of balloons rather than just one!

The card base is Night of Navy, and onto my mat of Mint Macaron I have used Whisper White in the top half and one of the patterns from the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper – the cute little hearts – in the bottom half. A strip of the luxurious Gold Stain ribbon covers the join and provides an anchoring line for the sentiment. The Everyday Chic papers are black and white – but I have coloured some of the hearts using the Night of Navy and Mint Macaron Stampin’ write markers and the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

This versatile and very cute stamp set is only available until Thursday – and remember, like all the Sale-A-Bration products – it is not available to purchase – but you can select it for FREE when you place an order of $110 or more.

I plan to put in one last Sale-A-Bration order on Thursday evening so Shop online or email me your list! Contact me before 6pm on the 31st if you would like to place an order.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed my project for this week’s CTC Blog Hop.

ESAD Blog Hop – Last Week of Sale-A-Bration

Hi There!

As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator living in New Zealand – I am so excited to participate in my first ESAD Blog Hop.

SAB ESAD Blog Hop

What is ESAD I here you say … check out all the details:

ESAD - Stampin' Up!

I’ve always enjoyed hopping my through an ESAD Blog Hop – they are always so much fun and contain lots of inspiration – so decided it was time to join in myself!

You might be starting here or – as you could be hopping in either direction – you might have arrived  from Narelle or Carly.  No matter how you arrived – a BIG WELCOME! There’s a full list of participants at the bottom of this post.

We are focussing on the fact that there is only one week left of Sale-A-Bration (SAB) – hard to believe — it seems like only the other day that this annual event started!

That does mean that there is only one more week to take advantage of the three ways that you can earn extra Stampin’ Up! product – SHOP, JOIN, HOST.

I have loved many of the SAB FREE products and thought today I’d share a project made with one of my favourites – Pedal Pusher.

Pedal PusherThis set was a latecomer to the SAB party – but has seen plenty of action in this house!

In my project I’ve paired it with a fabulous Going Global stamp set from the Occasions Catalogue.

The stamps are part of a great suite of products – the Going Places Suite. You can see the whole suite HERE

Here is my card with the two sets together using the Retiform Technique.

2016_03_creativeJax_ESAD_retiform

I’ve chosen a narrow colour palette – just Night of Navy and Lost Lagoon along with a Whisper White – to highlight the technique and the images.

Remember that Lost Lagoon is one of the five 2014-2016 In Colors that will be retiring at the end of May. I’m going to miss all five – but particularly Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. I’m sure we will get some fabulous new In Colors in June though so I doubt I’ll be sad for too long!

Retiform is not a new technique – but one i hadn’t done for a while. There are lots of variations but they all involve creating a grid pattern – hence the name. Despite looking complicated – it is in fact very straightforward (maybe I shouldn’t have told you that!). The technique involves masking and sponging, and masking and stamping.

Here’s some pictures of the technique in progress

2016_03_creativejax_goingGlobal_ESAD3

I’ve masked off the bottom, then masked each individual line off and sponged along it – one at a time to get the grid pattern I desired.

Then it’s time to add some stamped images.

Mask off one piece of the grid and stamp your image.

2016_03_creativejax_goingGlobal_ESAD4

Remove the Post It note masking paper to reveal the image which is contained within the grid.

2016_03_creativejax_ESad

Here’s a couple more stamped images.

2016_creativejax_ESAD1

And you just keep masking each grid area and stamping an image into it until your cardstock is covered.

If you are wondering where that skinny Night of Navy ribbon came from – if is the 1/2″ seam binding ribbon folded in half – you know me – I like looking for non-standard ways of using the awesome Stampin’ Up! products.

2016_03_creativejax_goingGlobal_ESAD1

And of course I had to decorate the inside to co-ordinate 🙂

Stampin’ Up! – CTC Blog Hop – Sale-A-Bration

Hi All

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) catalogue.

CASEing the Catty Blog Hop 68 - Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or if you’ve hopped on over from Simone a BIG hello!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page if you get lost along the way.

My schedule has only allowed me to participate in the Hops every fortnight lately – so it’s Sale-A-Bration for me again! Just as well there is such a wide range of products to choose from! If you’d like to view all the FREE items you can choose from during Sale-A-Bration – check out the original SAB catalogue HERE (pdf) and the new items released in mid February HERE (pdf).

Last Hop I used one of the Limited Time stamp sets released last month – the cute Pedal Pusher which is not shown in the image below.

For this Hop I’m featuring the other two new SAB products – the Metallics Glitter Tape and the Party Pants stamp set which you can see on the right-hand side of the page below.

SP SAB_2016_2nd Release_print-friendly_Page_1

I’m CASEing the card in the bottom left hand corner.

I also wanted to showcase the 2014 – 2016 In Colors as they will be retiring soon and will no longer be available. I know I’m going to miss several of these colours – Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss and Lost Lagoon have been favourites of mine.

shopbycolour_2014_2016

I made my stripped background by sticking the Silver Metallics Glitter Tape onto a card-base made from Kraft cardstock. The balloons are punch out of the five 2014-2016 In Colors using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and I used the 2014-2016 In Colors Stampin’ Write markers to draw the strings. There is a stamp for the string included in the set, but for this card I wanted the strings to fall differently than the stamp so simply drew the strings.Stampin' Up! SaleABration - Party Pants in 2014 - 2106 In Clolors

Each balloon has some stamping on it – either one of the sentiments from the Party Pants stamp set or one of the other images. Love how the stamp of the balloon tassel makes a cute pattern on the balloons too! I did all the stamping with the Classic Ink pads in the 2014-2016 In Colors

Stampin' Up! SaleABration - Party Pants in 2014 - 2106 In ClolorsI carried these balloons through to the inside of my card too!

Stampin’ Up! – CTC Blog Hop – Sale-A-Bration

Hi All

Hello and welcome to this week’s CASEing the Catty Blog Hop.

This week we are taking our inspiration from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue.

CASEing the Catty Blog Hop 68 - Stampin' Up! Sale-A-Bration

Whether you’re joining the Hop here, or if you’ve hopped on over from Rebecca Scurr a BIG hello!

Remember to click on through this week’s CTC crew to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you – there’s a full list on the CTC blog page if you get lost along the way.

A feature of this year’s Sale-A-Bration is that there are some items only available for a limited time – and last week saw three items removed from the list of FREE items you could choose from. But … we got three new ones and I’ve used one of the stamps sets in my project this week.

I’m using one of these new items in my project – the Pedal Pusher Stamp Set. The image below shows the back and front of the flyer introducing the three new items. Isn’t that tandem bike just too cute!?

SP SAB_2016_2nd Release_print-friendly_Page_2

I’m CASEing the card from the front cover and have taken my colour inspiration from the Pals Paper Arts Challenge – PPA289

Pals Paper Arts PPA289

2016_creativeJax_CTC68_Pedal_Pusher

I have used elements from the You’re so Lovely Project Kit to make my card. Here’s a picture of the kit – lots of goodies in there!

You're so Lovely collageThe card base is one of 3 different designs from the kit, and I have brayered Night of Navy over the gold embossed stripes of  the card. I cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock the same width as the card and trimmed it on an angle to match the original layout.

I’ve stamped the bike, basket and hearts from the Pedal Pushers SAB stamp set and added a little Clear Wink of Stella onto the hearts after I’d coloured them with me Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker – from the Subtles set of Markers.

2016_02_ctc68_pedal_Pusher_hearts

Being photopolymer,  you can line the stamps in this set up perfectly – though it aways good to have practice on a scrap piece of paper before stamping onto your project. I just wanted you to see a close up of the stamp set – such a great variety of images to work with!

Pedal Pusher

For a sentiment though, I wanted something more generic than those included in the Pedal Pusher Set – so went with one from the You’re So Lovely Stamp set which co-ordinates with the kit. The “enjoy your day” is a really versatile sentiment and the card could be used for all sorts of occasions. I think we sometimes overlook the kit stamp sets and forget they have lots of uses in addition to using them with the kits themselves.

lovely stamps

The original card had a couple of doilies peeking out from under the angled Whisper White card – I went with another element from the kit – a pre-cut swirl. I brayered this with Pear Pizzaz and cut it in half before positioning it underneath the angled card. Rather than white baker’s twine, I used black and white baker’s Twine – from the kit too!

2016_creativeJax_CTC68_Pedal_Pusher_closeup

I also added some Pear Pizzazz as the “shadow” under the bike. I simply used an Aqua painter to pick up a little colour from the case of the Pear Pizzazz ink pad after a gentle smoosh. Usually I don’t do water-colouring on plain Whisper White card stock as the paper doesn’t stand up to being wet – but in this case it was such a little amount of water it worked just fine.

If you’re not sure what I mean when I said I used my Aqua Painter and a smooshed ink pad – you can check out the technique in the following Stampin’ Up! video that does this with aqua painters and blender pens.

A good comparison – I love using both – they just give a different look – so it depends what affect you are after.

I thought I’d also share another project using the Pedal Pusher Stamp Set, an angled piece of Whisper White and water- colouring in it’s design:

2016_creativeJax_CTC68_Pedal_Pusher_swap

This was my swap for our team stamp camp over last weekend. It does also include another new Sale-A-Bration product – glimmer tape! See how well the gold tape matches the Gold Glimmer Paper. The tape comes in a 3-pack – Silver, Gold and White.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed my projects for this week’s CTC Blog Hop.
