CASE-ing the Catty CTC131 – Everyday Memories

Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop
CASEing the Catty Blog - CTC130
Whether you’re joining the Hop here at CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped on over from the talented Kathryn Mangelsdorf a BIG hello!

Well it is finally here – the 2017-2018 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue! It seems such a long time ago that I received a copy at On Stage in April! That’s one of the big perks of being a demonstrator – early access to the catalogue & being able to order some of the goodies before they are available to the public. But it has been a long time to keep it under wraps and I’m super excited that everyone can now see the catalogue – and get their hands on the fabulous new products. If you don’t have your copy yet, live in New Zealand and would like to receive your own copy in the mail – please email me (jackie@creativejax.co.nz). You can also view and order online – click HERE

This week at CASE-ing the Catty we are CASE-ing a project from the Everday Occaions Section of the catalogue (pages 18 to 67). A lot of pages and a LOT of inspiration there!
I have been itching to use the new Memory Keeping Product Suite – the Memories and More range and when I saw the image of the dog below on page 45 I knew I’d found my project to CASE! For me it was going to be some memories of “Cats in Hats”!

What fun – well for us humans that is! Maybe a little less so for our furry friends!
I’ve used a few new products from the “Color Theory Memories and More Card Collection” and the co-ordinating “Color Theory Product Suite“.

Color Theory Memories and More Card COllection

There are four card collections in the Memories and More range – Color Theory, Petal Garden, Bundle of Love and Perfect Days. If you click on any of these links they will take you to the Online shop where you can see images of all the cards in each collection – a great way of seeing these collections in more detail than you will find in the catalogue.

The first three card collections are designed to co-ordinate with a matching product suite – what a great way to extend the use of the cards – hence the name – Memories and More! (You can check out the other co-ordinating product suites here Bundle of Love and Petal Garden )

I’ve used the co-ordinating Color Theory 6×6″ Designer Series Paper Stack DSP (below) and Glitter Enamel Dots in my CASE project along with

I decided to use only the Dapper Denim coloured cards, DSP and dots as a contrast to the colours in my photos.
But if you look at the cards – the Dapper Denim ones relate to winter – not quite what I was after. But the great thing about the Memories and More cards are that you can cut them, and adapt them to the layout you are doing. Here’s some images that show the cards I started with and what I ended up doing with them.
There are two of each cards in each card collection pack which is great when you want to make matching cards and embellishments. I cut the centre out of one of the centres of the “Let’s Stay In” card, layered up with matching DSP, another card and copper Trim to create a title card that worked with my layout. Fussy cutting the “Let’s” was a bit fiddly!
From the second Let’s Stay in card I cut off the dotty edges to use on other cards & also behind some of the words.
The title was stamped with the Labeler Alphabet and the Brushwork Alphabet stamp sets.

Below you can see the components I used to create one of the cards.
Cutting one of the 3X4″ diagonally and putting some DSP behind tied in the gradient of colour.
I’ve carried that diagonal cut through to the the words I put on each of the cat pictures.
The journalling card was adapted by covering the “winter FUN” sentiment with part of a 3×4″ card.
I’ve also popped a few Glitter dots onto some of the cards – who doesn’t like a bit of glitter!

I have so loved using this Color Theory Memories and More card collection and am looking forward when the courier arrives this week with the other collections which I have ordered!

Stampin’ Up! is running a fabulous Hostess promotion for the month of June – extra Stampin’ Rewards for qualifying parties! If you’d like to hold a Stampin’ Up! Party aka workshop with me I have some spaces available for June. Contact me.

CASEing the Catty – CTC130 – Occasional Favourite Project

Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop
CASEing the Catty Blog - CTC130
Whether you’re joining the Hop here at CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped on over from the talented Judy May a BIG hello! You’re in for a treat of projects – the crew are CASEing our favourite projects from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue. This catalogue finishes next week – along with the 2016/2017 Annual Catalogue. So – if there’s anything on the retiring list that you wish – you are rapidly running out of time – so hop on over to my online store before it’s too late!

It’s a hard ask to identify my favourite project from the Occasions Catalogue but I managed to choose one – a card that hard leapt out at me when I first saw the catalogue but hadn’t got around to making. It’s the comic strip card on page 49.

And I’ve used one of the new Hostess Stamp sets in the 2017/2018 Annual Catalogue which goes live next Thursday – 1st June.

The “In the City” set is full of images of buildings, vehicles and nature – both outline images and stamps to be used for colouring. The possibilities are endless. There are great sentiments too! In fact – there are 60 stamps in this set! WOW!

In the City - Hostess Stamp Set

In the City will be available to purchase with Stampin’ Rewards of $34 value.

I’ve made a wedding card in the new  2017-2019 “In Colors” which will be available for two years from next week.

The top panel has blocks of Berry Burst and Tranquil Tide.
The middle panel has blocks of Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist. The bottom panel is Powder Pink. Love how these colours work so well together.

Love how these colours work so well together.

In the close-up below you can see the limousines and the chapel have been popped up on dimensionals and I’ve stamped the outline images inside the card too.
The card base is anoth new product – Thick Very Vanilla cardstock! Yes that’s right! Thick Very Vanilla! Just like the Thick Whisper White – it is thick enough to make a sturdy card base!

I’m loving getting to play with new products and I was delighted to be able to hold two Catalogue Launch Parties this weekend to introduce the new Catalogue to some of my local customers. What fun! More on those events in a later post.

Colour INKspiration – CI08 – Eastern palace Sneak Peek

colour_inkspiration_banner

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Blog Hop and Challenge – where every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, a new Pinterest Inspired colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group, and the Colour INKspiration Design Team will get the ball rolling with a blog hop. You can join the challenge with your own creation – or just enjoy all the fab projects that are being shared!
I’ve been absent from the Blog Hop for a few weeks – life gets busy sometimes and the last couple of months have been for me. I’m excited to be back onboard this week!

You may be starting here – or you might have hopped on over from the talented Kelly Kent at  My Papercraft Journey  (wasn’t that pattern incredible!) – either way – WELCOME! Enjoy the Hop!

Our Pinterest Inspired Colour Swatch for Challenge #8 is:

I loved the picture and the colours for this challenge so really wanted to create something to share.

You’ve probably heard by now that there’s a new suite from the yet-to-be-released 2017/2018 Stampin’ Up! Catalogue that is going to be available for pre-launch purchase as a special pre-release bundle. The Eastern Palace Suite – stunning and it’s not until ou start playing with the stamps and dies that you realise how versatile this set is.

Trust me – you are going to want the bundle – so don’t miss out on the FREE gift you’ll get with the pre-release bundle. If you live in New Zealand and wish to order the bundle – please contact me (jackie@creativejax.co.nz)

Here’s Eastern Palace meets Colour INKspiration 08!

I loved making a random pattern with several of the stamp images and using this as a vertical band on my card that my diecut could overlap.

And look at that diecut! Woah – I’m loving this set already – and it’s only had one outing!

I love negative space  – and there are so many options for that with this set of thinlits!

I carried the random stamping through to the inside of the card too!
I’m looking forward to using this bundle heaps – both in card-making and memory keeping.

I will be doing a Classes-to-Go with the Eastern Palace Bundle – details will be available when early next week!

Hop on over to  Kathryn Mangelsdorf  at  Kathryns’ Stampin’ World –  where you’ll see more Colour INKspiration – and more die-cutting too!

Kathryn

CASEing the Catty – CTC119 Let’s Celebrate Sale-A-Bration!

Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop for CTC119 where we are taking inspiration from pages 16 – 19 of Stampin’ Up!’s 2017 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue!
CASEing the Catty Blog - CTC116
Whether you’re joining the Hop here at CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped on over from the talented Julia at Handmade by Julia a BIG hello! You’re in for a treat of projects inspired from the pages of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration catalogue!

This section of the catalogue includes three fab Sale-A-Bration products and lots of projects to CASE! The Hey, Chick stamp set on page 17 has just flown off the shelves all around the Stampin’ Up! and there are quirky chickens and eggs everywhere!  I’ve also loved the Designer Tee stamp set and have used it several times. I love you can use it with the Custom Tee Bundle from the Occasions Catalogue – or simply on its own as there are great sentiments in the set. Having the Quick and Easy card kit has been great to whip up some cards when I’ve been pushed for time! And who isn’t?!

I’m sure you’re going to enjoy this week’s creations by the Crew! Then once you’ve had a look through this week’s Blog Hop full of inspirational projects –  get your crafty mojo out and join the challenge at  CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Sunday Challenge Facebook Group. If you haven’t already joined the group you – just ask and your wish will be granted!

For my CASE this week I’ve chosen the layout below from page 16 to be my starting point – but not used either of the stamp sets from this week’s challenge pages.

That circle pattern caught my eye and I had recently seen a “Bold Backgrounds” Technique over on Stamp Nation (Catherine Pooler). I knew just what would work for this technique.

The limited release Sale-A-Bration stamp set, Make A Medallion is perfect for a big bold background in black!

The medallions are stamped randomly onto thick Whisper White cardstock using Momento Black Ink to create the background. Different combinations of the medallion stamps create different patterns!

I was having so much fun that I couldn’t stop at one  – so I made 4 cards using the Make a Medallion Set as a Big Bold Background in Black!

I love how the one set can make so many different patterns

With the background being the hero of the card, I’ve used copper embossing on vellum for my sentiment. The Hooray sentiment is from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set.

Here are some closeups of the sentiments I used.

The Celebrate sentiment is from the Love Sparkles Stamp set.

The Awesome is from Marquee Messages stamp set.

Here’s a video from the Stampin’ Up! Home Office showing how to stamp the multiple layers of the Make A Medallion stamp set.

Feel free to leave me a comment in the section below – I love hearing from you! If you live in New Zealand and would like to purchase any of the products I’ve mentioned – I would welcome you as a customer.

Colour INKspiration Blog Hop CI05

http://wp.me/p3uTCr-1wZ

colour_inkspiration_banner

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Blog Hop and Challenge – where every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, a new Pinterest Inspired colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group, and the Colour INKspiration Design Team will get the ball rolling with a blog hop. You can join the challenge with your own creation – or just enjoy all the fab projects that are being shared!

You may be starting here – or you might have hopped on over from Simone Bartrum at Stamping with Simone – either way – WELCOME! Enjoy the Hop!

Our Pinterest Inspired Colour Swatch for Challenge #5 is:

I can hear the ooh’s & ah’s – but I have to say that I’m not really a pastel sort of a gal! However –  joining in challenges is a fabulous way to push us outside of our comfort zones – guess that’s why they’re called Challenges! And these colours do work so well together nad lend themselves to a range of different card types.

My project for Colour INKspiration #5 started with a card I made for a team member who promoted to Bronze Elite. I’m sure she is going to love the extra 5% discount that comes with that new title  – definitely something to celebrate. Her card was in Blushing Bride, Pool Party and Crumb Cake as I didn’t have access to checking the Challenge colours at the time – so did it from memory! Hmm – close – but not quite right! So She has that one and I made another in the challenge colours!

I’m loving these Celebrations Duo “debossing” folders! There are two in the set – saying Celebrate and Happy – and they give such a cool effect. The coloured dots are from the coordinating Happy Celebrations stamp set.

You run your card stock and Embossing folder through the Big Shot before you do any stamping. I have found that the Thick Whisper White is better for these folders than the regular Whisper White. The extra thickness gives the card more rigidity and helps avoid any ink getting into the debossed area.

The Basic Black mat was to make the soft colours around the sentiment contrast with the soft colours of the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper that is on the card front.

I’ve stamped a few images from Timeless Textures onto the DSP in Sahara Sand to give it more interest.

And how cute are those Falling in Love embellishments?!

Hop on over to Rebecca at The Paper and Stamp Addict – you just might get to see a different piece of the fabulous Falling in Love DSP!

And you don’t have to have the same stamps, papers or colours that are in this section as you are taking inspiration from something – not recreating it.

As well as the stunning Cool Treat products, there are also numerous other fantastic stamps this section and I’ve chosen one of the other bundles to use for my CASE this week – The Special Reason Bundle

I had my monthly thINK Creative team Meeting last week and we always do swaps – so I again decided to combine a CTC challenge with my swaps. Those that know me, now I love negative space, so I love the way the flowers from Special Reason can make both detailed positive cutouts and negative cutouts!

I’ve used the layout from the card and changed the colours. Loving the elegance of the Night of Navy and Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper.

This closeup shows some more detail.

The thread is deconstructed Tip Top Taupe Mini Striped Ribbon. I cut the ribbon in half lengthwise, then pulled some threads from the cut edge. These threads have a “crinkle-cut” look and add an interesting texture around the card.

Here’s a peek of the inside of the card.

And of course as these were swaps – there were several of them!

Feel free to leave me a comment in the section below – I love hearing from you! If you live in New Zealand and would like to purchase any of the products I’ve mentioned – I would welcome you as a customer.

As I mentioned at the beginning of my Post – CASEing the Catty has a weekly Challenge hosted in our CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Sunday Challenge Facebook Group.

Colour INKspiration Blog Hop – CI04 – Swapping Cheers

colour_inkspiration_banner

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Blog Hop and Challenge – where every second and fourth Wednesday of the month a new Pinterest Inspired colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group, and the Colour INKspiration Design Team will get the ball rolling with a blog hop. You can join the challenge with your own creation – or just enjoy all the fab projects that are being shared!

You may be starting here – or you might have hopped on over from Lou Kitzelman at With a Bow on Top. What a great project!

Our Pinterest Inspired Colour Swatch for Colour INKspiration number 4 is:

What a beautiful, rich palette to work with! I know we are gong to get some stunning projects in this Colour INKspiration Challenge!

I mentioned in my post on Sunday for CASEing the Catty (CTC116) that I participated in a couple of swaps at a team Stamp Camp last weekend even though I unfortunately couldn’t attend at the last moment. I said I’d share the other swap today – some here it is:

I really wanted the colours to be the feature of the card so brayered Elegant Eggplant and Crushed Curry onto the amazing Irresistibly Floral Speciality DSP with the sponge brayers. It’s such a quick and easy way of creating a colour-rich background as the pre-embossed images on the DSP resist the ink you brayer on – and then the image stands out!

As I was making swaps,I many of these cards and used three of the patterns in the DSP.

You can see how different each of the papers looks.

I tied a bow in Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine on the Floral patterns – but just knotted the twine on the diamond for a more masculine look.

If you are wondering which stamp set that sentiment comes from – it’s one of two stamps in the just released “Reverse Words” set.The other sentiment is Hooray.

Reverse Words

Reverse Words is a new Sale-A-Bration (SAB) reward stamp set – one of three new items you can earn for FREE with a qualifying order until the end of Sale-A-Bration – 31st March. You can see all three new items HERE.

Remember all the other SAB products are still available while stocks last – check them out HERE

I used my re-inkers, in Crushed Curry, Delightful Dijon and Elegant Eggplant, and put a few drops of each onto a baby-wipe to make a multi-coloured ‘ink pad’ to stamp the sentiment onto Whisper White.

After cutting the Sentiments out with one of the ovals from the Stitched Shapes Framelits, I popped it up on dimensionals and added an Enamel Shape from the Regals pack – either Elegant Eggplant or Crushed Curry.

It was another fun colour combo to play with – I hope you play along too!

If you haven’t already – make sure to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends. Then enjoy all the INKspiration coming your way – and don’t forget – you can join in the challenge too – you don’t have to have a blog – but you do need a Facebook account!

Now – hop on over to Patrice at Spring Blossom Musings – You are going to love her card!

CASEing the Catty Blog Hop – CTC116 – Swapping Pocket Pages

Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop for CTC116!
CASEing the Catty Blog - CTC116
Whether you’re joining the Hop here at CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped on over from Kelly at My Papercraft Journey a BIG hello!

This week the CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Challenge is taking inspiration from pages 20 – 31 of the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue. This section features the popular Succulent Suite of products and some other sets on my “must-have” list – Beautiful You, Dragonfly Dreams, Mediterranean Moments, Custom Tee & Tie Dyed … a fabulous section of the catalogue!

Once you’ve had a look through this week’s Blog Hop to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you –  get your crafty mojo out and join the challenge at  CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Sunday Challenge Facebook Group. if you haven’t already joined the group you – just ask and your wish will be granted!

You don’t need to have a blog to join in – just post your picture to the Facebook Group in the Album for this week’s challenge (CTC 116 – Succulents). If you do have a blog – feel free to add the link! And of course, the challenge is open to all Stampin’ Up! enthusiasts – not just demos!

And you don’t have to have the same stamps, papers or colours that are in this section as you are taking inspiration from something – not recreating it. There are 40 projects on this week’s pages – so no shortage of places to start! In fact, with so much choice I found it hard to know where to start!

I have a small confession – I must be one of the few people who have not purchased the very popular Oh So Succulent stamp set and coordinating framelits! I love seeing all the projects made with these – it just hasn’t yet got to the top of my rather long wish list! So I’ve chosen to take my inspiration this week from some of the other fabulous projects and products on pages 20 to 31. And I started with the large card below.

It was the Creative Inkers Team Camp this weekend. Unfortunately, I was not able to attend at the last minute – but I had signed up for a couple of swaps! I know they will have had a weekend full of fun and inspiration and motivation and crafting and laughs!

If you pop back on Wednesday you’ll see a project for one of the swaps I was part of, but today I’m sharing my Pocket Page swap. It’s the first time the team has done a “pocket letter” type swap and I was super keen to participate – I love trying something new!

Where to start? …

I did some research on Pocket Letters™ (an idea initiated and Trademarked by Janette Lane) to get a feel for what these were about. There were lots of styles – but essentially you create cards for the pockets around a particular theme or stamp set or colours. You can create a scene across all the pockets or they can be individual cards. You can decorate both inside and outside the pockets. You pop something behind each card – tags, embellishments – and of course a letter!

For our Team swap, we decided to work with a 6″x8″ Project Life by Stampin’ Up! page – the one with four pockets. I find this size is great for all sorts of projects. We have 6″x8″albums and two different variety packs of 6″x8″ pockets pages available in addition to the more traditional 12″x12″ albums and pages. You can see the complete Project Life by Stampin’ Up! range HERE

I decided I wanted to tie the four cards together through their backgrounds and decided to look for a project in pages 20 to 31 that I could CASE. I’m a little pressed for time at the moment, so I’m all for optimising my projects – two birds with one stone as they say!

There’s lots of inspiration in these pages but I was drawn the larger card on page 26 – the one with the two large dragonflies from the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle – and used it as my starting point.

Here’s where it lead me –

Dragonfly Pocket Page Letter

The page is complete as a whole but each of the pocket cards is a creation of its own! Here’s the original card with the fabulous Dragonfly Dreams Bundle (you can purchase this bundle HERE)

Dragonfly Dreams Bundle

I liked the original colours – I think that’s what drew me towards the card in the first place.

So I kept those – but added the others colours from the Cupcakes and Carousel product suite. I also love the colouring of our copper foil and embossing powder and wanted to include those in my colour palette.

I’ve used three pieces of paper from the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP stack to make the background. I made this as a complete 6″x8″ page using one 6×6 page as the base and adding a strip of diamonds across the top. To create a similar dotty pattern at the bottom, I tore another paper (one with little dots) in a curve and adhered it at the lower edge of the centre panel. Some dots were stamped  in Versamark and copper embossed. Then some flecks and other marks were added with glue and also copper embossed to give a grunge look to the background. I then cut this into quarters ready to decorate each.

Here they – decorated – but are outside the pockets

The top right and lower left pocket cards were decorated in a similar way to the original card on page 26. I’ve copper embossed the centre of one of the Falling in Love Embellishments to adorn my copper foil dragonfly.

There’s a Peekaboo Peach set of wings under the stamped dragonfly, and more embellishments on the top – a flower from the Sending Love Embellishments and Pool Party Baker’s twine from the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment Kit.

The top left pocket card top inspiration from the Happy Birthday card on page 27.

The bottom right pocket card takes its inspiration from the card on page 26 with the little dragonflies. Copper again of course though!

I added the large Bermuda Bay dragonfly to the front of the pocket page in keeping with the one sitting with the framelits at the bottom of page 26. Mine is way more sparkly though – it’s cut from the gorgeous new Sale-A-Bration Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack. This is one of 3 new items available FREE with a qualifying order from 21st of February. With 12 pieces of 6″x6″ (4 each of Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum) there’s a whole lot of sparkle in that pack!

Check out the three new SAB items HERE

Now – let’s have a look at the reverse side.

The little card (where I’ve written my letter) is based on the bee tag from page 26.

The crosshatching pattern comes from the wings of the dragonfly – I partially inked them with an Early Espresso Marker to get part of the pattern.

The tags are inspired by the That’s the Tag projects on page 23 of the Occasion’s Catalogue – but with dragonflies of course! Sparkly AND copper – what more could you want?!

Here’re the reverse sides:

What fun project my CASE was this week. I am looking forward to receiving my Pocket swap back and hoping the recipient of this one enjoys receiving it as much as I did making it!

Colour INKspiration Blog Hop – CI03 – When in Doubt STAMP

colour_inkspiration_banner

Welcome to another Colour INKspiration Blog Hop! You may be starting here – or you might have hopped on over from the amazing Paula Dobson! Love, love, love her card – and that gorgeous stamp!

We continue to be excited by the response we’ve had to The Colour INKspiration Facebook Group and Challenge. The group has broken the 1000 members threshold! WOW!

Did you see the Top 5 Pick? Their photos were put into an album and a poll set up for Group Members to vote. You can check out the album Here I’ll be heading there shortly to see which of those amazing projects was voted WINNER as people’s choice!

So – a quick reminder as to how Colour INKspiration works – Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 9pm New Zealand Daylight Savings Time (7 pm AEDT), a new Pinterest Inspired colour swatch will be uploaded to the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group, and the Colour INKspiration Design Team will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop.

There’s also a Colour INKspiration Facebook Group for Stampin’ Up! ® enthusiasts who would like to share their paper craft projects using the colour combinations.

Members of the Facebook group have the option to join the Colour INKspiration ‘Challenge’ by uploading photos of their projects. The Challenge closes a day before the new one starts. The group members get to vote for their favourite from the Top % Pick (as selected and voted on by the Design Team) – the project with the most votes wins the Challenge.

I don’t know about you – but I’ve been feeling like a winner every week so far as there have been such enthusiasm and so many fabulous projects shared – there is just so much INKspiration on the page!

Our Pinterest Inspired Colour Swatch for Colour INKspiration number 3 is:

I’m a little in love with the t-shirt Builder dies, and the co-ordinating stamp sets at the moment, and wanted to use one of the stamping themed sentiments for my team swap which was last week.

Here’s what I came up with

“when in doubt STAMP”!

I like that sentiment! – so much that I needed to repeat it – over – & over – like a personal Mantra!

This is one of the stamps in the Designer T stamp set which is a Sale-A-Bration Set. So remember it’s only available until 31 March.

On the inside of the card I used images from the co-ordinating Custom Tee set

If you are wondering about the background behind the shirt – I first stamped the sun image from Kinda Eclectic in Soft Suede.  I used the Sunburst Framelit on a piece of Window Sheet to cut out a template. I then used this as a stencil to brayer some peek-a-boo Peach Ink.

I then rotated the stencil so it was masking the Peek-a-boo Peach and added soft Sky with the sponge brayer

I had such fun creating in these colours – I hope you play along too!

If you haven’t already – make sure to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your favourites and share it with your crafty friends. Then enjoy all the INKspiration coming your way – and don’t forget – you can join in the challenge too – you don’t have to have a blog – but you do need a Facebook account!

Now – hop on over to Kathryn – You are going to love her card!

CASEing the Catty 114 – Sending Birthday Love

Hello and welcome to CASEing the Catty – Sunday Blog Hop for CTC114!
CASEing the Catty Blog - CTC114

Whether you’re joining the Hop here at CreativeJax with Jackie Noble, or if you’ve hopped on over from  Liz at  Lillybet’s Papers a BIG hello!

This week the CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Challenge is taking inspiration from pages 14 to 19 of the 2017 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue. This section features the gorgeous Sending Love Suite – and so much more! There’s stunning baby stamps, cute monsters as well as sets to help celebrate Easter with.

Sending Love Online

Once you’ve had a look through this week’s Blog Hop to see plenty of inspirational projects that the crew have created for you –  get your crafty mojo out and join the challenge at  CASEing the Catty Blog Hop and Sunday Challenge Facebook Group. if you haven’t already joined the group you – just ask and your wish will be granted!

You don’t need to have a blog to join in – just post your picture to the Facebook Group in the Album for this week’s challenge (CTC 114 – Sending Love). If you do have a blog – feel free to add the link! And of course, the challenge is open to all Stampin’ Up! enthusiasts – not just demos!

Remember CASEing means you take your inspiration from one of the projects – you don’t have to have the actual stamps, papers or colours that are in this section -you are taking inspiration form something. Maybe you like the layout and run with that.Maybe you like the colours in a project and use them in a completely new project. The possibilities are endless! There are more than 15 projects on this week’s pages (14 – 19) – so plenty of places to start!

When creating my project for this week (which is my Birthday Card to my daughter who turned 24 about 10 days ago) I started with two of the projects on page 14 – the Soft Sky Valentine’s card and the glassine gift bag. These are in the image above.

I merged design elements from both to make something new in Marina Mist – one of my daughter’s favourite Stampin’ Up! colours.

Here’s a close-up of the embellishments and that oh-so-cute mini envelope!

Even though the Sealed with Love stamp set and Love Note framelits have a strong Valentine’s theme – they are really suitable for so much more! I think they make a great Birthday card.

The cute wee wood elements from the Sending Love Embellishment pack are prefect to show love for all sorts of reasons – this time to our much-loved daughter! For this card I wanted to use designer series paper in the same colour so pulled out some Marina Mist from my Subtles DSP stack

But I didn’t stop there with my CASEing!

I’ve got card classes this week, and even though Valentine’s Day is not a big event in New Zealand, I wanted to have a card that allowed people to make a Valentine’s Card if they wished – but one that could be easily modified for other purposes as well. I would love it if us Kiwis adopted using Valentine’s Day to show our love – not just to our Sweethearts – but to all those we love and appreciate.

Here’s the Valentine option that class attendees will have

I’m loving the heart border that the framelit cuts!

And here’s the alternative card – achieved by using the reverse side of the Sending Love DSP stack and changing the little sentiment and adding the extra words of “Sending Love”.

The “hugs & kisses”  and “Sending Love” sentiments could still be romantic – but they could be for so many other purposes – a friend in need, a family member you haven’t seen for a while, a sympathy card, or just because … so many uses!

Here are the three Marina Mist cards all lined up together – birthday, Valentine’s and all-purpose – all very similar but by changing an element or two you can create a range of cards.

While I was thinking Valentine’s Day – I wanted to make a card for my sweetheart! So I decided to see how the layout would turn out in red, black and white. I’m happy – What do you think?

A perfect sentiment! Hopefully he won’t read this post before the 14th – though the sentiment should not be a surprise to him lol!

For all versions for this CASE – I’ve added a Mini Paper Clip and one of the ribbons from the Sending Love Ribbon Combo Pack

Sealed with Love Bundle

I’d have to say that the Sealed with Love Bundle is a fabulously versatile set – and is fabulously good value with 27 photopolymer stamps and 14 dies. You can purchase it online HERE or contact me by email

I do hope you’ve enjoyed my projects this week! I’ve had fun creating with some of my new goodies from the Occasions Catalogue. Feel free to leave me a comment in the section below – I love hearing from you! If you live in New Zealand and would like to purchase any of the products I’ve mentioned – I would welcome you as a customer.
